Functional issue with Ebay's top of page sales banners

This has to be THE most annoying feature of the Sell page on Ebay.  You are trying to use say a slower kind of connection to post an item for sale, like wifi or a slower computing devices like a tablet or phone.  Just as you go to enter/post something, the banner appears, "pushes" the page down and you hit the wrong key!  If I'm in the sales feature, I'm probably not buying anything at that point, must we really have this there?

Can you do a screenshot, please? I cannot understand what you're referring to.

It's very annoying... after having it happen a few dozen times I try to wait out the slow loading image but often still end up somewhere I did not want to be.

It's not just ebay , this happens with all sorts of sites ... if it's not banners it's slow loading ads suddenly jerking the display ... makes navigation an adventure that's for sure.

This is not something one can demonstrate with a screenshot. The problem occurs when the user is using either a slow Internet connection or a device with a slow processor or worse a combination of both.

The slow page loading speed causes text and thumbnails to load first, the user thinking all is ready begins working only to have the slow loading banner suddenly load, the screen display jerks big-time causing the user to input data in the wrong field or hit the wrong link or button.

Those with flaky Internet connections experience this all the time when using cell phones.

Out here in rural Ontario we deal with unreliable Internet speeds on almost a daily basis.... we subscribe and pay for high speed LTE line of sight connections which don't deliver what's promised. Within any 24 hour period service can and does vary between lightning fast and no service. A fact of life out here in the country .

Then I have no advice that would be valid in this case other than to encourage the OP to seek reliable internet coverage as I’m not sure how eBay could offer a solution to a problem that haven’t created. Eliminate all data from every listing web page other than the blank forms?

Or load the page and then begin to complete the Selling fields only after a coffee break.

Haha... not a bad idea or maybe go out and pull those pesky weeds out of the garden.

Sadly, there's no such thing as reliable Internet service in many rural locations, at least nothing that would compare with urban service. In this area there's one fibre trunk line, all service providers feed into it by means of wireless line of sight systems. With the advent of streaming these systems are overwhelmed in the evenings, especially dug the winter. Cell services are even worse simply due to weak signal strength.

Using the old Sell Your Item form, I’d literally take a coffee break whenever it came time to upload photos. I’d load them and then return to my desk ten minutes later when that step was completed.
