I've never been able to figure this out. If I want to provide a tracking number in a note, I always end up having to include the entire website address which takes up almost two lines. All the tracking numbers I receive, I simply have to click on the number.
Could you someone please help me. Thanks.

Is this a note to yourself or a note to a Buyer?
Any number you "just click on" has all the website coding hidden from view. It's still there.
Canada Post short link is:
https://www.canadapost.ca/trackweb/en#/search?searchFor=trackingnumber

It's to buyers who sometimes can't find the tracking number on eBay .... occasional buyers.
The short link you're showing is the one I've called the long link. What I'm asking is how can you put just the number. I understand that the coding is in the clickable number. But I can't just put a number ... it's not clickable. And I'm trying to avoid all the preamble to the number, as in your example.
This is something I've been wondering about for a long time. Hopefully I've explained myself.

when you type in the number put it in quotes,, for example " 000000000000" this will turn it into a clickable link

I just tried it with a tracking number from today:
“9226532885531373”
Doesn't work. Maybe you were just pulling my leg .... Lol

I dont think you can do this. What you want is to insert a hyperlink, there is no way I know to do this on this platform. I dont think Canada Post have thought that far forward technologically anyways. I'm not sure ebay would want this either, as they'd get all kind of destructive & spam links that would cause all kinds of headaches for everyone.

Since you are having problems with links, don't use them.
Go to the receipt you got when you bought the shipping label.
See the tracking number?
Just send your buyer a Message ,or answer her Message and type the number in.
If necessary add the link to Canada Post's tracking page.

You don't have to link that either, if you type it in, it will automagically turn into a link.

On the page I gave you, that number you gave above shows the item was accepted today in Winnipeg and is now in transit.

I'm sorry I don't understand your statement that Canada Post does not yet have that technology. I get 15 to 20 online orders shipped to me each month. I get an e-mail letting me know the order was shipped and they include the tracking number ... just the number ... which, when clicked on, leads me to Canada Post or UPS, etc.
I've always wondered how they did that and assumed it was a simple process. In fact, I thought when I posed the question, people might think ... you sell on eBay and you don't know how to do that?
So I think we're both talking about something different.

Thanks femme. I'm not having problems with links. I can track a number very quickly, from my eBay sales page, from PayPal, or any number of sources, and I can probably type a number as fast as I can click ... lol ... and I know how to provide a buyer with a link to Canada Post and their tracking number.
This is simply a matter of curiousity. Like I mentioned, I get a a couple of dozen parcels a month or more (one order sometimes involves 3 separate shipments) and, for several years now, I've always wondered "how do they do that"?
I'll eventually find the answer. Thanks everyone.
