How to prevent Fraud from Buyers

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. Ebay has done nothing but side with the buyer is this case. Every time I call or message eBay its a new person and they don't have all the facts. They make decision based on a lack facts and its very frustrating. They say the case is closed and there is nothing they can do about it now. Here is a synopsis of the issue I'm facing:

Asked buyer to open a case for return request because the pictures they submitted were not the same drone I sent.

Appeal was for arguing for not having to accept the return as this was a blatant lie. This appeal was denied by eBay.

Therefore I messaged the buyer and gave him my address and told him I would refund him when I got the drone.

eBay refunded the buyer without my consent and knowledge. I haven’t received drone back.

Buyer stopped responding to messages.

I messaged the buyer on my other account pretending to buy his item and he responded right away.

He claims he didn’t see the other messages and that he got rid of the drone.

This is despite his agreement to send the drone back to me.

Yet he says if Ebay tells him to return it he will meaning he still has the drone.

Now he has my drone and money.

In most cases the onus for return shipping is on the seller.

Because you did not supply return shipping, you lost the case.

If the buyer had not used your return shipping to return the drone, you would have won and eventually the cost of the return shipping label would have been returned .

If what is returned is not what was sent (or was significantly damaged while in the buyer's hands)then the seller can appeal the refund.

Send him a return shipping label.
