I need help to send another item to a buyer as the original they claim was faulty.

I need help to send another item to a buyer in the US.  The buyer claims that the CD that I sent played fine on my machines was blank and wants another one.  I know that sometimes a CD doesn't play on all machines and I suppose this is one of them.

Now I want to send another one through ebay to take advantage of the savings in shipping.  Do you know how I do this?

Unfortunately, I am unable to help...but it would be nice if eBay gave us that option...like back in the days with PayPal one could do "ship another" from the same transaction...

That's good.

If  you could give more details about how you did it, it would be helpulf for people who may be in your same situation.

Go to order details for item and press "Get Another Label".  Worked perfectly.

Sort of perfectly! It will probably reset your shipping date for that order which means you might get a late shipment ding. If this (late shipping) is a rare event it won't actually matter.

This is true, when I've sent a replacement it reset the shipping and marked it late.

I've solved this problem by buying my label on Stallion's portal and sending a screen shot of the label to the buyer (for them to see that I did send another and get the tracking number). eBay will have a record of the first one sent and I won't get a late ding. If a buyer does an INR with the second one I'll have a tracking number to add to the request (but so far no one has ever done an INR if I've sent a replacement, for the most part people are grateful if I have another one when something happened to their first shipment).

I need help to send another item to a buyer as the original they claim was faulty.

  • Go to My eBay on the desktop site.
  • Hover over the 'Orders' dropdown.
  • Click 'All Orders'.
  • Find the order.
  • Click the button with the three dots.
  • Click 'Get Another Label'.

That should take you to the standard shipping label page. Keep in mind, you MIGHT be assessed a late shipping defect by eBay's bots. This is not a big deal. If this happens, you should be able to get it removed by contacting eBay.

With that said, if this is the exact same pressing of the CD, I would caution you against sending a replacement. This could be a user issue or an issue with their hardware and sending another CD won't resolve it. You'll just be out more time and money.

Defective discs are a thing, it is is significantly more likely that their CD player either has issues, or simply doesn't like this pressing. It happens sometimes. If they haven't tried it in multiple different players, I would not send another copy. It also might be that they are trying to play it in a computer, and their software is faulty. Some discs do show up as blank in Windows Media Player. They could try freeware like VLC Media player (although I hesitate to recommend people to download specific software, because when dealing with someone who is tech illiterate it is very easy to accidentally download Malware when googling for freeware).

It is good that you want to provide great service, but if they can't troubleshoot I would just ask them to return it. If a return isn't cost effective, I would refund and block. There is a small chance that the disc itself is defective, but with what I know about CDs this sounds like an error with their equipment or their inability to troubleshoot on a PC.

Hopefully, I can't get a late shipment because it showed as delivered April 29.  I played this next one through and it works, the other one worked too.  I probably should have told her to try it on another machine but I didn't as this kinda threw me.  I sent it off another one today and told her if it didn't work then she needs to clean the CD reader or get another CD machine.  It is from the US and I didn't want the hassle of her marking it as NAD, me having to pay return shipping, just as easy to ship another one and block her.  So I am out $8, oh well, cost of doing business.
