I don't think Mary ever had a reason to even contemplate hiring a hit man.

When couples spend almost all their time together, they are usually very close.  

Atleast thats the way it is with my husband and I.  When he had a business, I worked for him.  When I sold real estate, he got his licence too.   I sold, he sold, we have been a team for 40 years out of 48 years of marriage.  We helped each other, supported each other, comforted each other and shared in everything.  

I would like to think that its the same with Mary and Pierre.
