Is HTTPS affected by my id in my photos?

Well - I am in total confusion. Received the email "Changes to Chrome Will Affect Your Listings - Update NOW" (I do NOT use Chrome).

I used the i_Ways tool as suggested and found several photos that use just my id name or my id and email - sort of like watermarks or "this is my picture - don't steal it!!!). I assume they want me to take out the names BUT what bearing will this have on the HTTPS problem? And, is there anything else I have to do?
Thanks so much -

For some help on your issue, visit the eBay.com USA forum called Replacing Active Content. eBay member shipscript has made a free active content tool for checking listings and is expanding it to include the HTTP/HTTPS change also. There are several topics in that forum where shipscript has helped.

shipscript volunteers her time for years now making free fantastic tools to help eBay sellers and understands the current changes required very well. Best source of help on the changes.

Changes to Chrome....   are how potential buyers will see your listings... If They use Chrome.

The photo situation  has to do with picture policy...... and the photos put in your listings

Link to

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/picture.html

The Http/https situation has to do with your listings    and the  presence of http versus https

Look in your descriptions in HTML format  during the revision process and look for .....  http

If there is information in a photo... the "bots"  cannot read that information.

If the only images you use are hosted on ebay you have nothing to do as far as the https issue is concerned. If you use images that hosted elsewhere (ie through a listing service, or a photo storage site) you need to make sure the html links in your item description to those images are https:// vs http:// and that the website they are hosted at is SSL secured. https:// only works with a site that has implemented an SSL certificate. Most listing services/template providers will be aware of this and making adjustments for this that may or may not require action on your part. If you have your email anywhere in your listings, including photos, you need to get that out of there as you are in violation of the contact information policies they have begun tackling in a more systematic way.
