Message from Canada Post. Unable to deliver package, tracking not working

I just have a message supposedly from Canada Post.

The delivery address provided for this parcel is incomplete and is required further details.If you cannot provide a response to this action within three days, the parcel will be returned.

There is a tracking number which does not come up when I try to find it. No address it was sent to, just says Private Package. Is this spam!

There is no way to update a package address when I don't even know where the package was sent.

FWIW- EBay requires the buyer to give a deliverable address.

If you took the address from eBay, which got it from the buyer, that address will be exactly what they supplied.

And eBay does not require you to refund anything when the supplied address is Undeliverable.

The MBG is not applicable.

So you can wait until the buyer complains and/or you get the shipment back.

This does not take in the Buyer's rights under the chargeback policy of his credit card.

Meanwhile- do you track everything?

You could ignore any untracked shipments, since CPO likely is not getting in touch about those, any more than they would a christmas card that goes astray.

And it's likely in the last 30 days.

You could... hmmm... use google maps to see if any of the addresses are apartment buildings but don't have apartment numbers.

What is the URL on the notice?

Yes it had tracking, but no address, so I have no idea where it supposed to have been delivered to. None of my buyers are complaining about late deliveries. It says its from  Your The eBay Canada Community Team I sell on .com.

Okay, I forwarded to my Google account, (I don't use this for eBay) and it came up suspected spam, I guess that is the answer, thank for you helpful suggestions.

spoof@ebay.ca or spoof@ebay.com  are both useful and easy to remember addresses for such problems.

"Your the..." is a pretty good indicator of a scam, since it is not something an English speaker would use.

It is a common scam. Canada Post does not reach out to people like that.

If you want further confirmation, just contact Canada Post directly using their website or phone number and they will likely confirm this for you.
