I received a message from ebay saying that they removed my listing because it was reported as counterfeit by the owner. The problem is it's not a counterfeit. The listing has multiple items and I have kept this listing for more than a year. It wasn't a popular item, but it was sold occasionally. The strangest thing is that listings selling the same items from other sellers are still available. I won't go too detail about the items since my main or the only concern is whether it's worth to contact the owner. An ebay agent told me that contacting the owner might solve the problem, but I'm not sure because if it helps, then why they didn't contact me first? Again, I wonder if it's worth putting some time and energy into this matter, or just better to forget about it. Please let me know. Thanks.

If it's a poor seller, then the effort to get it relisted may be uneconomic.
I'm assuming that the item is mass manufactured.
Sometimes those companies do a sweep, not a thorough one, and send in complaints about some but not all of the listings.
If you have the time, you could contact the brand owner, but proving authenticity can be a pain.

What is the item eBay removed?

I've never gotten anywhere with trying to dispute these, even after submitting invoices from authorized retailers. Some owners will falsely claim counterfeit because they don't want any 3rd party sellers competing with them. eBay just takes their word that it's counterfiet, allowing them to abuse the first sale doctrine.
