I have been told that all promo invitations are randomly generated by computer - this came from eBay's Utah headquarters - in two different conversations with two different staffers.

I got the invite but... on my buying account! Not on this one. So it is wasted. I wish I could transfer it but can't.

On the other hand, I'm not really frustrated, because I don't do well with auctions. Last time there was a promotion, I didn't sell anything.

I just hope I'll get an invite if the next promo is for Fixed Price. 😉

You can transfer your inventory over to your buyer account using Turbo Lister.  It takes some time but well worth it.  On auction listings during the promos, try 1 day listings.  Then its easier to consume 50,000 listings.

I guess this is a very heated topic as I now see!  Look, it is plain clear and obvious that Ebay has a mandate here and that is to statistically monitor the amount of people who are actually relisting their items within 90 days who have NOT been sent a 'Promo email'.  This way they can see what those numbers look like month to month on a scale, so to speak!  This is part of their Marketing.  It is kind of like the CEO looking at same store sales for Starbucks monthly.  They want to see if people are taking the BAIT!

Bottom line is sellers such as myself sell many unique and differing items.  The margins are very small if any on some items.  Unless you are a seller who has several hot, in demand, current items ie.  Samsung S3 cellphone cases/covers,  you are not going to have same constant sales every month.  People in the arena of 'various items' need to stand up and stick to their free promo limits so this shows on Ebay's end!  This is just my thoughts and analysis and feel there is merit here.

Cheers

Thanks for the tip, but I don't want to sell on my buying account (even though I did a few years ago, before opening this account). I want to keep it strictly for buying. 😉

Re: New FREE Listing Promotion - Up to 50,000 Listings

And yes I got a message a while back stating the month end bonus is being rolled back to 10% from 20 for power sellers. so if you generated 2000 in sales you would of received 40 dollar credit now the credit is 20. I sure eBay realizes that many normal regular (non box store) sellers with a store depended on this to pay there store subscription. My husband knows 4 sellers that is departing their store do to this. I will take the 50 free listings and list to the day they take that away, as far as any type of store eBay is not generating the traffic to warrant opening a store.

This thread is from 2013!!!!!

But I can't resist....if the loss of $1 on a $100 sale means you can't make money you need to change what you are doing.

Also, closing a Store means paying higher fees (10.15% vs 9.15% or less) and furthermore TRS discounts have nothing to do with having a store or not.

Also keep in mind that most Canadian Sellers who recieve the TRS discount would not get it if they had to follow the same rules that currently exist for sellers in the USA.

Non-store had no change in the Final Value Fee rate in the 2017 Spring Seller Update. It stayed at a flat rate of 10% for all categories.

Re: New FREE Listing Promotion - Up to 50,000 Listings

I agree. I used to get free listings every month and ever since I changed my store to Premium I have had ONE free listings promo offered to me in over 4 months.  After using up a good portion of my monthly listings soon, I will go back to basic, save about $45 a month and probably get free listings again.  Ebay just doesn't get it.  Every move they make seems to hurt sellers and upper end store subscribers.
