Hi everyone,
Just started using ebay "Managed Payments" this week and I just had one question about the length of time it takes for a payment to actually show up in your bank account. Received my first payment through this new program, when I click on the "Payments" tab the order shows as "processed", than it changes to "sent", then lastly it shows as "completed". Checked my bank account after the "completed" notice was given by ebay but the payment has not shown up in my bank account. Is there a delay between ebay's "completed" notification and actually being able to see that money in your account? Thanks guys!
Jeff

But when sellers are no longer able to use PP as a source for buying Shippo labels (and by extension, PP labels) because we only have MP accounts ?
I use my PP account for many things other than eBay, including some newspaper subscriptions. And those purchases are financed with eBay sales.

Theres no reason you can't use PP to buy Shippo labels, you just have to put the funds into PP yourself. If you wanted you could use the same bank account that is tied to MP and link it to your Paypal. In a roundabout way it will still use your eBay sales to buy Shippo labels through Paypal. The one issue is the MP payments do not seem to be immediate.

When/If we have ebay shipping in Canada, we should be able to pay for ebay shipping labels directly from the buyer's payment.

Hi @femmefan1946 - I'll sure try! Disclaimers first:
As someone who is not an expert on managed payments I may not be able to address your question in its entirety. If you have been notified to register for managed payments you are able to request a call back from a payments-trained teammate by accessing any of the Help Pages related to payments and using the 'Have us call you' feature at the bottom of the page.
The information provided is accurate as of today's date (12 August 2020) but may become outdated in the future. If you are reading this at a later date please consider checking the Help Pages or request a call back from a managed payments teammate who can provide the most up to date information.
Payouts occur to your bank account only, which means that you would be unable to directly fund a PP account with your sales. However, you could transfer that money to a PP account and use it to save up for that Torchwood DVD set or postage via Shippo or Snap Ship.
@pjcdn2005 is correct that the plan is to eventually offer a label solution on eBay that lets you utilize pending funds directly for label costs. At this point in time, however, there is no update on when that will be available, meaning you'd be looking at using an alternate payment method with Shippo while you waited for funds to payout to your bank account.

I am on Managed Payouts since October 3rd and although I have sold items since then, I have not been paid by eBay. There is no way to update or verify my banking info, (the system keeps giving the same Something went wrong error message when I try to verify or update my banking info) and I am beyond frustrated with their buggy system. eBay really dropped the ball on this issue. COMPLETE DISASTER!!!

My store was on vacation when i registered for MP on August 10. My store was off vacation on August 16.
My first payouts occurred on a daily basis... and then I changed to a weekly basis.... My money was sent Tuesday morning and has been showing in my bank account on Tuesday night and recorded on Wednesday.
A payment on MP must be processed before the Payout is made.... Weekly payouts occur without any problems. Processing can increase the time between payment and then payout... specifically when payouts are made on a daily basis.
eBay says that a payout will show in the bank account within 3 to 4 business days.. For me it is usually one day and once it took two days.
Another seller has indicated that payouts took about a week before the payout showed in a bank account.
The time between a payout is sent and its arrival in a bank account may differ between banks

As noted by others, the problems sellers(and buyers) come across regularly on eBay can and do vary. What may affect 1 seller/buyer may not even register as a blip for another. There seems to be a never ending stream of so called changes seemingly only for the sake of change. Not really for the sake of improvement. Forcing these same buyers and sellers to come up with creative work arounds almost on a non-stop basis. This has become a major time waster for many sellers and extremely frustrating. Possibly not a frustration for you. Just saying, for others. It doesn't help alleviate the frustration when sellers have been complaining about these numerous problems for years and there are no attempts to fix.

PS. Currently it's the another "Item Specifics" boondoggle and how much it is affecting MANY sellers.

The transfer of funds from Managed Payments to banks seems to be happening again.
I have been told that Paypal was able to transfer funds immediately because they had enough float to front transfers, with the known exception of e-cheques drawn on bank accounts.
Will Ayden/MP be doing this in future when they have more users signed up? (I realize this is well above your pay grade.)
The fallout from this is that sellers are unsure whether they will be paid at all (like "pending" payments in PP) and are therefore reluctant to ship.
Which has fallout for the seller (eBay wants us to ship as soon as possible even if it is not possible) and for eBay since this could lead to a reputation for slow deliveries (while AZ continues to publicize overnight delivery).
Full disclosure: I was invited to join MP last August but am holding out due to different bank issues.

It might be a very good idea for eBay to maybe pause any future large scale enrolling until ALL of the known bugs and issues have been entirely worked out before making sellers less hesitant to take this massive leap of faith!!!

Hi @femmefan1946! You're right that most things related to managed payments are above my paygrade, so I can't give you a lot of definitive answers.
I can say that I've heard no plans for managed payments to 'float' money similar to the PayPal experience.
Thanks!

I believe that when a payment says that it is 'processing' that is ebay saying that the buyer's payment has cleared and the seller is ok to ship as they WILL receive their money.
But just in case I've gotten my terms mixed up @recped can confirm or correct me since he already is in MP

Pretty much accurate......
When a sale is made and the buyer pays the sale will show up in Payments with "processing" as the Status.
In about 12 to 24 hours the status will change to "completed" and the funds become available for your next payout.
I'm on weekly payouts, all sales up to Sunday are included, Some payments from Monday sales may be included as the time spent in "processing" varies and I'm not exactly sure what the cutoff time is to be included.
eBay says to ship when the payment is still in "processing" so I ship.
If I was to walk into a retail store and use my credit card, it would be "processing" until the merchant does their day end closing but they still let me walk away with my purchase, they don't tell me to come back tomorrow after processing is completed.
If you look at your own credit card statement online just after making a purchase you will find entries that show as "pending", changing to an actual charge the next day after the merchant has done a close out. The actions in MP are pretty much the same.
