I sold an item today & received notice of the sale from eBay. When I look at my sold items in eBay under the $ sign it has an hourglass which I thought meant it was an echeck. The order details page shows as paid by Paypal. When I go to my PayPal account there is no record of this nor did I receive any email notification of pending payment from PayPal. I don’t receive many echecks but in the past I am sure I got email notification which also said don’t ship till we notify you it has cleared. Is this just a glitch? Anyone else having problems?

DO NOT SHIP.
I'm not sure what is going on, it may be just a delay in posting between the two sites, but if the money is not showing as being in your PP account, DO NOT SHIP.

I did recently change my email address but did notify both Psypal & eBay. The new email is what is showing when I go to sign on to PayPal & my eBay notices are coming correctly. You don’t have to revise each listing do you?

No. But Paypal may not have directed the payment correctly. It happens.

Changing your email address on PayPal & eBay does not change the payment address for existing listings (or relisted).
Did you remove the old email from PayPal? If so try adding it back in although you may need access to the email account to confirm. If you can add back the old email address the payment that is sitting in limbo should show up (maybe not instantly but quickly).
I use an email address for payments that is subject to typos, years ago I added a whole bunch of common variations of my email addy. Of course this was back in the day when you sent buyers your PayPal address so they could pay you.

The eBay listing has an entry for the email address to send the payment to PayPal in every listing. You need to bulk revise all active listings to have the new email address.
Your current payment is in limbo if the email address in the listing is not in PayPal. PayPal allows up to 8 email addresses so you can probably fix it by adding the old email address back to PayPal. If you cannot get that email address back because the account is ended, then try just adding the old one to PayPal anyway. The payment may come through. You will not receive any notification emails most likely.
Make sure to fix all current listings with the correct email address. Make sure if you relist an older listing that you change the email address to the new one.
I made a mistake once in typing my email address incorrectly in a listing template and used that template to make about 25-50 listings. Payments went into limbo for 2-3 sales. I corrected all listings to the correct email address. Because my misspelled email address was on Hotmail and the misspelling was unique, I was able to open up an Hotmail account with the incorrect address and add it to PayPal. All my missing payments came in. I kept that misspelled email account for a long time in case I relisted an old listing with the incorrect email address.
If none of the above works, you will probably have to have the buyer cancel their PayPal payment and you relist with the correct email address and have them buy again. I am unsure of what exactly to do in this scenario so wait for more advice.

Thanks everyone. Even before reading the last 2 answers I checked my listings & realized that I did have to change them on each listing. Even with bulk editing with over 700 listings & some on each site it was a paid in the butt to change. Unfortunately I changed the email address because that particular address was being switched to a different platform & server so no longer have access to it. I also have another sale that the buyer has not paid me for which will have the wrong paypal address. I will maybe phone Paypal &/or eBay tomorrow to see if there is an easier way to fix rather than have to cancel the sales.
Not sure why I thought eBay would automatically make the change - must have been on drugs I guess. When I went to do the editing eBay did advise with an error message that the Paypal account was wrong! Too bad they didn't send a warning email about that. LOL
