Can anybody tell me how long it takes for shippo to return money for a label not utilized?
Am I required to do anything to get the money back? Like contact Shippo? Or there is a set time after which the label is voided and the money returned.
Thanks for any input.

Someone else will correct me if I'm wrong but I think that you will get a credit on your Shippo account, not a refund. As far as length of time...I would guess at least 3 weeks.

Hi @mriou @pjcdn2005 is correct.
I can expand on it a bit. If you create an unuseable label on Shippo Go to "Shipments". Scroll down to the label you wish to cancel. From the drop down select " Refund label". Follow the prompts.
Pj is right in saying to expect a refund to your SHIPPO contingencies account in about 3 weeks. That said if your Shippo account is routed to your Canada Post Small Business account instead go there. On the Canada Post website cancel the label if it shows in your list of your recent shipments. If you cancel it on CP they will refund your "method of payment" in about 7 days.
On your Shippo account if you choose credit card as your primary method of payment label refunds are faster than credits to your Shippo acct.

I think an automatic refund for unused labels is only for USPS labels bought from Shippo.
For Canada Post you have to request Shippo to cancel the label. Takes a couple of weeks and the money returns as a Shippo credit for future purchases.
...
I am not sure if Canada Post even has an expiry date for unused labels, which is why manual action is required.

I should have added that the label was created for a return (The costumer has just closed the claim keeping the item). Is it the same as cancelling any other label on Shippo?

I've been refunded (oops rather had my accounted credited back) from Shippo a couple of times for labels not used/errors. I thought there was a drop down option for this on the right side but it has been a while. Message Shippo (you can't actually speak to anyone) but they will can give you step by step instructions and confirm how to do it for a "return" (mine were not returns). Once they respond and you have a contact name they usually respond back fairly quickly....except they don't do so on the weekend! In both my cases it was done within a few days so the amount was deducted off their invoice which they usually send out once a week (or when you hit $100), whichever comes first.

Ahhh, the unused return label. The telltale sign of a scammer.
I love PirateShip for making it easier for me to nail those types of buyers to the wall...

I suppose that an unused label could mean that the buyer was a scammer in some cases..but it could also simply mean that the buyer changed their mind about returning the item.
