I just lost $500 selling through Ebay. The buyer said I didn't send him the high value coin that I KNOW I sent him. He took apicture of his own low value coin saying it was the one I sent. I sent 6 emails to him with no response. If I would have paid for him to send a coin back I know he would have sent back his low value coin.

Ebay has decided to return his money and tracked shipping. So I am out the value of the coin, the cost of tracked shipping and get this! Ebay and Paypal still get to keep the amounts that they charged me for the total sale value. I will never sell on Ebay again. There are just too many crooks out there. Ebay has a strict format to follow on returns and the buyer is always right even the crooked ones. It always costs the seller!!!

That was the wrong action.

As you have learned.

Your only communication in a Dispute should be through the Dispute.

If I would have paid for him to send a coin back I know he would have sent back his low value coin.

And even if you have a No Returns policy you are entitled to demand the return of the item.

If he's gonna cheat, make him work at it.

You can have a No Returns policy, but you cannot have a No Refunds policy.

Also returning a different item allows you to appeal to eBay and -- possibly more important -- to start a Mail Fraud claim.
