Shipping to U.S. via USPS is a Covid disaster.

USPS has been an utter disaster for my sales to the U.S. starting in March. I normally shipped "tracked packet USA" and then suddenly my shipped packages disappeared and were un-trackable. Eventually they all were returned to me over an 8 week period. Also tracked packet items were getting rejected by U.S. Customs for contents. I'm selling off a collection of 400 tobacco pipes from my uncle and over the past three years I've had no problems getting them through Customs until March 2020. Most my customers want the item still so I re-shipped using Expedited shipping through Canada Post. At that point U.S. Customs accepted all the same items they had rejected before. At first the Expedited sales were delivered, though slightly delayed. Now it's getting messy on Expedited as well. One of my latest deliveries was returned to me because they said the recipient didn't accept the package. In fact USPS didn't even bother to make an attempt at delivery and left no notice. USPS returned the shipment the day after it arrived at the zipcode. If notification had been left they hold for ten days or so. I've had other items sent to the wrong zipcode post office with Expedited and so on. I'm going to have to switch to UPS or FedEx. This is an endless mess.

Sorry your experiencing that. I'm pretty new but haven't had any such issues and was quite worried. Items shipped to Canadian West Coast and the US on the same day have routinely been arriving to US customers before Canada. I also use tracked packet for US.

FWIW-  a lot of what we call "tracked" is actually only Delivery Confirmed.

I would hope that "Tracked Packet" is not one of those.

Again FWIW- such "undeliverable" shipments are not subject to the Money Back Guarantee.

For a good seller that is not important, but a grumpy person would realize that he is not even required to refund the buyer's payment.

I'd still be checking on Google Maps to see if the address does exist. Or is guarded by an attack goose. (Those things are mean.)

Knock on wood but all my shipments to USA have been ok so far. I would guess that its related to the items being pipes, perhaps US customs has rolled out some new regulations this year?

I agree. I believe US Customs has changed regulations on anything related to smoking (pipes, etc).

I've had no problem shipping to the US thus far. And no attack geese or ducks (they're just as vicious) either.

Interesting point.
I tried to find anything about this, but found mostly information about drug paraphenalia.Which the OP is not selling.

@shannonseclectic

However, it might help if on your customs forms you included the HS number.  which is  96140090

Yes, that is the European site, but the numbers are international.
