Hi Guys,
I have some items signed by artists. We are in the province of Quebec. So signatures are from Quebec's Artists.
I'd like to know if any of you know if there's an authentication business in Canada that can provide certificates of Quebec's artists signatures? If I can provide a certificate with the item, it would bump the value quite a bit.

I assume this is a niche artist.
Have you tried contacting BGS or PSA to see if they can authenticate that artist? KSA is another option. The only reason to use them would be if you absolutely don't want to send it to the USA since they are Canadian. If you're spending actual money to get it certified I would go with PSA or BGS because they are more marketable.
I highly doubt that there is a body that specifically caters towards niche Quebec artists.
One option would be using something like Beckett Quick Opinion. They will look at a photo of the autograph and give you a snap judgment on whether it is correct. Keep in mind, this is not a substitute for legitimate authentication. It is meant as a starting point for people to decide whether an autograph is worth sending in. People have tested it before by sending photos of autographs that they 100 percent know are legitimate, and they have received it marked not authentic. They have also done the opposite.
Another avenue would be to sign up at an autograph forum. Something like: https://live.autographmagazine.com/forum
People who post there may be willing to give you their opinion. That is not a certification, but it might help you determine whether it is worth spending the money to send it to PSA.

Yeah, that's what I thought so... Would need to find in the USA, but they might not know the artists or their signature. I just like things to be done correctly. Having it signed but not certificated, it's not the best.
They are not really niche artists, just pop artists who signed DVD/CDs or magazines. But Artists from Quebec can be seen as niche I guess.
Until I find something reliable and not too expensive, I might try to sell them without certification and specify in the description that we cannot guarantee the signature...
I'm holding on those items right now, to think about the best way to do this.

So these are just autographed items not "art" (as in paintings).
Unless they are from now dead musicians or ones that very rarely sign stuff they may not be worth much. I presume these are not Celine or any of the other big names from the past (or present).
Authentication costs money and takes time to get done, probably not worth it unless the particular artists have a major (cult) following.

Yes, that's what I'm starting to think also. I'll still wait a bit and do some research, but it might be too expensive and I wonder if people would pay for the price with the certificate.
I think I will list them and specify that they are signed but we did not authenticate the signatures.

Thank you. I will do some research. I have one artist DVD and one CD signed that I want to make sure are real. I will try just to understand and know the process.
Never hurt to learn. 😉
