There was a buyer who made two orders of stamps from me a month ago and I shipped them via lettermail (hence no tracking number) and he has not left me any feedback as to whether he has received them or not, and the other day he just ordered another batch of stamps from me. I messaged him asking him if he could confirm that he has received his two previous orders from me before I ship his new order but no response at all. Am I right to feel annoyed by this and unwilling to do business with him? It seems like common curtesy to repay feedback to let your seller know that you've received your order if you're going to make new orders from them, otherwise how do I know that he's not out to scam me? What should I do? Should I just go ahead and ship his new order even though he won't even bother replying to my message to let me know he has received the previous packages I sent him? I'm afraid if I cancel his new order I'll offend him.

I regularly have folks that don't leave feedback (check his feedback left, there probably isn't any).
Personally I wouldn't worry about it (I sell stamps also) and send it just as you did the first time.
I also wouldn't bug him any more, but it looks like you've already said you wanted to hear from him before you ship though, so when you do ship I would send another message saying you've shipped.
As a note, we all assume buyers are on email every day/often, some of my buyers only log on once a week (one fellow did all his ebaying when he visited the Library each week I discovered when I called him).

I hope you're right. It just seems very unlikely in this day and age that someone could be without regular wi-fi. But even so, you'd think they'd at least leave feedback for their orders like most people. It just adds to the unlikeliness that they don't even bother to do something so basic when they do get to log on to Ebay.

Life is a lot simpler if one doesn't assume anything, buyer pays, you ship and assume no news is good news.
(The stamp world is full of folks that aren't computer literate, I have almost 100 getting a printed list that do not have computers.....)

Another possibility is you have a satisfied customer and the reason for his return visit. As Ricarmic stated many buyers, even long time ones can't be bothered to leave feedback. They may only when they have a problem. Old adage. No news is good news.

PS. In theory probably not a good ideafor a buyer to make a series of purchases and then leave neutral/neg feedbacks.

To me it sounds as if he got his order, liked it and ordered more.
Very few buyers leave any feedback. Only about 40% of transactions get any and I suspect most of that is left by sellers.
Some people are more outgoing than others. Nagging about feedback is not usually a good idea.
If you are very nervous, use Expedited Parcel to ship this time. As a stamp dealer you have lots of mint stamps that are only worthwhile as postage which will reduce your costs. You will have to take the parcel to the PO for the tracking label, I don't think you can print it online without paying for the postage.

I once saw a feedback...negative..."seller bugged me fo feedback twice!"
Feedback is optional and less than half receive feedback so don't sweat it.
