The new View Item description for mobile features a clean and consistent item description summary. eBay derives a brief, 250-character, text-only description summary from your full item description. This provides relevant listing information that allows shoppers to make fast, informed buying decisions.

"Ouch!" comes to mind. I think my coffee needs some "flavouring" this morning.

Uggggh $20 for a store! ...and I thought $16 was too much...
I see they made the announcement this morning: http://announcements.ebay.com/2016/04/spring-2016-seller-update/.

eBay-branded shipping supplies
Later this month, sellers will be able to conveniently purchase affordable eBay-branded shipping supplies on eBay with quick handling time and free shipping. Premium-quality boxes, envelopes and tape are available at very competitive prices, providing you with one-stop shopping convenience for all your packaging needs. eBay-branded shipping supplies are eco-friendly, too.
I bet you this will not be available to Canadian users.

I don't know...we are pretty happy with the cheap shipping supplies we are purchasing now.

Remove active content for peak performance
The use of active content in listings, including JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions, inhibits purchases on mobile devices and can lead to abuse in the marketplace. Beginning with the Spring 2017 Seller Update, eBay will limit the use of active content in all new listings across all devices and it will not be rendered by default. By the Fall Seller Update 2017, we plan to remove or block listings with active content. We encourage you to limit your use of active content now. We will provide more information later this year about which functionality will be limited and provide the specific timing in early 2017. We also are working closely with our third-party partners in cases where they use active content on your item descriptions or stores.

REALLY??? What are they going to do next? Don't tell me I have to edit all of my listings! What is going to happen next, eBay gets rid of "old" stores and everybody has to use new stores?

Why does eBay need to add more items we can list? I am happy with what I have because it works well for me. I don't need to get 50-150 more listings available, plus I am paying $4 extra!

Now I feel sorry for Rodney and Raphael.
They spent a week explaining the change of policy to single currency site for eBay.ca (and received a lot of insults for their efforts) and now they will spend another week explaining how eBay can raise the monthly fee to an eBay store by 25% (from $20 to $25) without giving store owners the benefit of at least a month's notice....
... and how eBay took upon itself to edit our description to fit their new standards.
Good Luck to them.

I noticed that and remain puzzled that eBay.ca wuld offer a US$ price to Canadians after changing its policy of listing in Cdn$ only on the site Did not make much sense to me.

Did they make all this in weird colors to make it hard to read, especially the added fee costs for short listings and over $150.00 which I don't understand as it is difficult to read.
Will we now get surcharged for listings on top of the store increase?
04-05-2016 10:22 AM
Easier to read on .com. I see it only applies to special features.
So we get shafted by a 25% basic store subscription increase, more listings which have meant very little in the last few months, so another gouge on sellers with no real benefits except huge increase in listings for anchor stores.
Ebay wants to make more money up front. Next update, my guess, FVF increases!

Does the changes to description mean no more images in the description?

This post (on .com) was hilarious, but true! http://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/It-s-here-Spring-2016-Seller-Update/m-p/25406411#M741353.

Dutchman, you might want to try asking your question on the US Community: http://community.ebay.com/t5/2016-Spring-Seller-Update/bd-p/2016SpringSellerUpdate. It looks like they have people answering questions there.
