So with one of my suppliers I do not pay until I receive as he is a middle man type of guy ...
I had an order that was about 2 weeks late and my payments are due when item show at my door and I have confirmed everything is good....
Today I receive this message
Derek Please ensure payment is on time as I am having alot of issues with late payments from buyers and I am thinking of switching to pre paid only...
My Response
Ya I know what your saying I have been having alot of trouble with my orders showing up late and I am thinking about cutting out the middle man fees and going direct ..
His Response..
NO NO NO I was just talking in general not about you ......
Anyways I called him and told I was yanking his chain and we had a good laugh but I thought it was pretty funny

Some people need to be shaken up. Your response was perfect.
I have a possible situation where I can acquire a lot of stock. I have not seen what this guy has, yet. Guy jerked me around on Sunday. Hour and a half round trip plus sitting in front of his house for half an hour. Guy lied about being home.
I phone him and ask "Was I at the wrong place?". Conversation and he basically admits he lied, blamed it on his ex-wife, like I care so I gave him an earful. The guy needs money desperately. I do not know why, I do not care. Now he is phoning me, begging me to come back.
I warned him, I pay pennies on his imaginary retail dollar.
Brandee, you sell. I sell. Do we jerk our customers around? Of course not. Then why should we be jerked around?

There are a lot of people who can't work for others. They can't take orders, They can't follow orders. They have to do it their own way.
If they are smart they can run a business and do well.
But sometimes they are dumb with it.
I used to see this a lot when we used sub-contractors for our woodstoves. We sold, they installed.
Had one guy who noticed as he drove past a house where he was due to finish up a job the next day that the lights were on. So he stopped and asked if he could do the work right then.
At eleven at night.
The customer was a single woman.
Ken never understood why this was a problem.

That was my thoughts too ..
The only reason I deal with this guy is everything from him comes from the US .. I have found all but 1 of his suppliers and they are in my pocket but With him I pay a small fee and don't have to deal with customs/brokerage fees and go to ten different guys but sometimes I just have to wake this guy up because he is a little bit of a drama queen and just a middle man in other words if every stops placing order with him and goes direct he doesn't have a pot to :):) in
It was funny though when the second response came back in a panic

I received an order recently from a new supplier...a big company in U.S. I found them at the trade show and placed a good sized order. They had only the catalogue prices from 2013, no Canadian retail prices. When I asked what the exchange would be they did not give me a definite answer...just "Oh, it will be a little bit higher". My mistake. I should have been more aggressive in getting a straight answer.
The majority of the products were marked up 30% which is slightly more than "a lttle bit". However, a few items were from 45 - 59% higher and one item was 74% higher. I emailed their office manager in U.S. twice asking why the different rate. She responded saying that they were 30% higher but did not explain why some of them were higher than that, and what would be my profit margin...not her concern or my question. I haven't heard back from her after the second query.
Too bad for them because I like their products and would have given them a lot of business. Now...I don't think so. I guess they don't need my money.
