What is the point that eBay was telling us that we can open the unpaid item process on the 2nd day when it is NOT true?
Am I reading it something wrong? Are we supposed to be able to open the process on the 2nd day or is it for eBay.com only not eBay.ca??

i think its only after 4 days, never heard about 2 days.

No, it's 2 days now, just changed last month.
ebay means 2 days EXACTLY. 48 hours plus one second after the sale was made. That may be where you're having an issue.

I have the feeling the ability to file after two days is on .com.
Filed two on .ca last week & had to wait til four days passed.

I tried to apply for non payment of auction winnings earlier this month. Both times I got an immediate Ebay reply that 4 days had not passed so I had to wait. I'm on .ca

On eBay.com:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/unpaid-items.html
"you can open an unpaid item case in the Resolution Center as early as 2 days" (that does not mean the second day; two days = 48 hours)
on eBay.ca:
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/unpaid-items.html
"If you don't receive payment, you can open an unpaid item case in the Resolution Centre as early as 4 days" (that does not mean the fourth day; four days = 96 hours)

Two days is a little early to file in my opinion.
I send a friendly reminder after two days.
If i don't happen to hear back after four days, i then file.
Keep in mind Sellers still have to flexible.

"Two days is a little early to file in my opinion."
I totally agree with you. However, the folks at eBay in San Jose gave in to some large sellers insisting on the ability to close unpaid transactions quickly. From my perspective it is a mistake.

Of course its a mistake.
Heavyweight sellers have to flexible also.
The only time i file after four days is when i check their Feedback & see comments like "Quick, Fast Payment, etc" on the day of & after they have purchased my item.

It is already way after 2 days and still NO! Get it??

"It is already way after 2 days"
Have you read post #6 ?
Is the listing on eBay.ca (4 days) or eBay.com (2 days)?
07-31-2013 02:34 PM
I'll have to read the announcement again then, because I also thought it was available on ALL eBay sites, not just .COM. Once again, Canadians are put aside 😞
It would have been a good question for today's half hour session. If only I had seen this post sooner... oh well, I'll try to ask it next week.

Take a look at the two links posted earlier, one each for eBay.com and eBay.ca.
The difference is easy to spot.

Yeah, I know there is a diffence in the link you gave Pierre, but those are the help pages. I talked about the Spring Seller Update where this change was announced.
They must have changed it recently, because now they make a difference there too:
File unpaid item cases 2 days sooner (items listed on eBay.com only)
So it seems that only items listed on .COM have this advantage. Like I said in my previous post, once again, Canadians are put aside.*
*Not that it matters to me though, because I give 5 days to my buyers to pay their invoice.

"So it seems that only items listed on .COM have this advantage."
???
Advantage? I do not see filing a claim for non-payment after two days as an "advantage". I think - as stated earlier - that this policy is wrong. Buyers should be given a minimum of four days to pay. I would never chase a buyer within at least seven days from purchase date. Where is the rush?
Sellers who want quick payment can always use the "immediate payment required" function.

It seems you didn't see the last sentence of my post Pierre 😉
*Not that it matters to me though, because I give 5 days to my buyers to pay their invoice.
Therefore, it is not an advantage for me, but it can be for others who don't want to wait that long. Sellers have the right to have different payment terms than we both have is all I'm saying. 😉

Concerning the link I gave in post #14... I just read the Q&A at the bottom of the page and it says:
When will I be able to file unpaid item cases 2 days sooner for items listed on eBay.ca?
We are planning on adding these changes to eBay.ca in 2014.

I seem to remember that the seller update always specified that the 2 days was for .com listings only but that the info wasn't as obvious as it is now.
But, I could be wrong.
Most of my listings are on .com but II would be really uncomfortable opening a dispute after 2 days so I still end up waiting at least 8 days before everything is settled. I would rather that a buyer has 4 days before a dispute can be opened but then only 2 days to pay once the dispute is open. It seems that if a buyer is going to pay they will do so within a day of the claim being opened. I don't think that I've ever had anyone pay the 3rd or 4th day.

I do agree that it would be a better solution. The few times I had to open a dispute, the buyer paid the following day too, just like you.
