Why do I need to have a US address to print a shipping label?

I live in Toronto, Canada

Sold my very first item on ebay yesterday so this is the first time I'm going through the workflow

So as I attempt to create a shipping label, on the top of the page in red letters I read "Invalid Ship From Postal Code" and under the "Ship From" section, I read in red letters "You need to have USA address. Click "Change" to create new address or select an already added USA address."

During the listing I listed "Canada Post Regular Parcel" as my shipping service. My buyer lives in Canada. My account is registered with a Canadian address

So what on earth is going on?

Can anybody help?

If you listed on Ebay .com, you can't print a shipping label from there. Print it from PayPal.

You are trying to print from dot com so it thinks you are in the USA. Log into your account on dot ca. You can print your label from there because it then thinks you are in Canada.

I can't find any record of you having sold anything.

Can you post an item number ?

Make sure you listed on Ebay.ca

I'm thinking that you ran into problems by inadvertently listing on Ebay.com which would strictly cater to US sellers including shipping.

Why do I need to have a US address to print a shipping label?

Hi, I'm running into the exact same issue, but I'm shipping to Maine.

I tried to switch from .com to .ca, but the following page just says:

"An issue occurred and we were unable to create your shipping label. If ebay charged your account, we will automatically issue a refund."

Any tips on how I should go about this?

Thanks

You are in Canada and you need to go to dot CA in order to create a shipping label. The message is just telling you that eBay was unable to create a label for you on dot com. Log out, go to dot ca and create a label from there.

You will need to create a Canada Post acct for small businesses and a Shippo acct if you do not already have one. This will allow you to take advantage of any CPC discounts when you purchase your labels.

This is a zombie thread. As such, the information may no longer be accurate.

What service were you trying to use to create your label? Shippo? Paypal? Canada Post SnapShip? You have options.

Was this item listed on ebay.com or ebay.ca?

Thanks @momcqueen. We're all replying to a really old thread... if the OP is somehow still around (and still having an issue), they can start a new thread with the clarifying information that other members have suggested.
