Raising my shipping and item price will scare us sellers away??Not to menthion overseas buyers that i only sell to by request by them.Cost for tracing scares them away some of the time.

"most of my buyers are us"

That is also true for me, as it is with most Canadian sellers.

Eighteen years selling on eBay and fourteen years on eBay.ca (in Cdn$) and never, not once experienced a problem with conversion as far as American or overseas buyers are concerned.

There is a lot of paranoia out there.  Do not let it get to you.  There are thousands of happy Canadians listing and selling on eBay.ca in Cdn$.

Overseas buyers see exactly the same price - in the currency of their country - whether you list in Cdn$ or US$.  When they pay, payment is made by PayPal in the currency of their country whether you list in Cdn$ or US$.

When listing in Cdn$ those overseas buyers pay exactly the same but you save the added conversion from US$ to Cdn$ which is a total waste of money when a second currency conversion is required.

From the thousands of posts I have read on the subject in the last week, way too many Canadian sellers overthink it. In most cases, they should simply follow the suggestions made by eBay.ca.

"Raising my shipping... " ????  There is no need to raise your shipping charge.  If anything you should consider offering "free shipping" or lowering your shipping charge to be competitive with American sellers.

List in Cdn$, adjusting prices to reflect current conversion factor US$1.00 = Cdn$ 1.30

If there is a need to adjust the price (up or down) a few months from now, let's worry about it then.

I currently sell in US dollars.

I have adjusted both the price of an item, and the shipping cost such that my Canadian dollars price today is about the same as it was two to three years ago....before any change in exchange rate between US and Canadian dollars.

That means my US prices are lower compared to two to three years ago.

Once I change to Canadian dollars,  I will not have to make any further adjustment such as was done when I was still selling in US dollars...

The exchange rate will take care of itself  as it changes.

My items will sell at Canadian dollars,  regardless of any change in exchange rate.

The change will be here soon....   The process has been planned... and ready to do it...

The Migration Tool will do the conversion

such that if your listings  are in US dollars,

the prices  will get adjusted up based on the actual exchange rate....

either.... the exchange rate on that day... or the exchange rate set by a seller, and close to the actual exchange rate
