Hey everyone! Recently, I was researching new LEGO sets in the "LEGO Complete Sets & Packs" category to determine better pricing strategies for my own LEGO sets. As bloody usual, I spotted tons of sellers inappropriately listing individual items like minifigures, ships, vehicles, manuals and stickers in what is supposed to be a category for COMPLETE SETS as stated right in the category's name. Not only that, most of these sellers classified their items as "New" -- clearly defined by Ebay as "A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item..." -- which cannot be the case, in this category at least, if items were removed from a factory sealed box to be sold separately. Also, some sellers inexplicably listed damaged and even punctured boxes as "New" even though they cannot be considered "unopened" and "undamaged." This is all very frustrating and a massive waste of time as I am usually forced to read descriptions to look for annoying 'does not include' and 'only includes' caveats. I repeatedly attempted to use the "Report Item" links in each of these auction, but it leads me to unresponsive drop-down menus. When I called Ebay support, they advised me to try another browser, but that made no difference. The representative was surprised that their links didn't work and took down two of the offending item numbers and promised to forward them to the appropriate team to be addressed -- like the Ark of the Covenant being stored in a warehouse to be ignored in "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Massively uninformed and unhelpful overseas call center reps reading scripts: the modern Ebay support experience. I could spend the rest of my natural life reporting misleading listings over the phone, or Ebay could just fix their **bleep** "Report Item" process so that it (gasp!) works. I couldn't find anything about this glitch online; is anyone else also unable to report listings that violate Ebay rules and guidelines? Thanks...

Yes, wading through scores of incorrectly categorized LEGO listings is a pain. When doing research, I regularly employ "-" in the search terms to help things rule out (e.g., "-damaged", "-custom", "-opened", etc). This may be a better use of your time than reporting, because it feels like a losing battle with the sheer volume of listings that really should be redirected.
