As you may already be aware, Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are currently in the process of negotiating a new collective agreement with the help of a conciliator.

As part of this process, CUPW will ask its members to participate in a “strike vote” by Sunday, September 9th. This vote on job action is part of the process laid out by Canada’s Labour Code, and does not necessarily mean that a work disruption will occur.

At this time, the earliest point at which a legal work disruption can occur is Tuesday, September 25th.

As many of you will recall, Canada Post and CUPW went through a similar negotiation process in 2016, which was resolved with essentially no disruption to delivery services. As a result, at this time, eBay recommends that sellers do not take any action on their listings in preparation for a potential work disruption. We’ll provide further information and guidance as events progress.

You can read the latest updates about the negotiations on Canada Post’s Customer Updates page.
