10 years on ebay, It's terrible now.

Ebay use to be my favourite place to buy AND sell. Buying just isnt the same anymore. Hardly any people selling anymore just big stores that dont have the variety we use to have. I just sold something and it turned out to be a non-payer. You cant even give people negative feedback anymore.

I cant buy from the US anymore now that the shipping and customs is tacked on. It's too bad because there is nothing like the early ebay anymore. Amazon is close but this bloated user unfriendly money withholding racket is going down. Just like the cable companies Ebay has run its course.

But why should there be a risk of being cheated at all?

Let me guess, you went to one of those schools where everyone got a Participation medal?

That's not Real Life.

There are going to be problems. Some categories (especially those that cater to young men*) have higher levels of fraud (and again on both sides of the transaction) than others.

This has nothing to do with eBay (or AZ or etsy or Bonanza or even Kijiji), it's the demographic.

If you want to sell in one of those categories, you have to be ready to use all the tools at your disposal to protect your business and your reputation.

But it is a business. It's not personal.

Actually your wrong, we are paying customers of ebay and we should have the right to demand equal treatment.  And it has everything to do with ebay.  If sellers had equal protection and the right to leave negative feedback to buyers who scam then that would solve allot of the problems.

It's amazing how you are the only one right in your many many posts about the same things.

Perhaps you could offer some solutions instead of just saying that eBay does things wrong.

So...please tell me how eBay should handle the following situation...

Item sent by lettermail

1 month later buyer puts in an item not received claim

There's no delivery confirmation, no proof if the buyer received the item or not.

How exactly should eBay treat buyer and seller equally in this situation?

I've given up buying too. Chinese sellers who never send items and hope you don't complain. Company in my opinion is a place rampant in fraud

Re: 10 years on ebay, It's terrible now.

as a seller who uses both tracking and non tracked, where do you think my problems come from?? obviously the untracked ones..so if i can ever prove they weren't received, i would be happy to leave negative feedback. unfortunately the system is full of holes.. on the other hand it was of no benefit for a seller to leave negative feedback for a non payer , because they do the same now as they did before..they create a new account once they can't bid anymore because of unpaid strikes..

so catch 22, learn from your mistakes, improve, and be stronger.. as a seller it will never be a perfect world..

10 years ago we had to wait to recieve  a money order, or check then go to the bank,or post office, wait for some to clear before we got paid, before we ever shipped.  a big pain , looking back..

but then there was no defects for late shipping, etc.. so it is all a learning curve..

trying to make the best of it as it changes.. that's all we can do..
