ANY UPS'ERS OUT THERE?

canada post just broke one too many things the other day, and i knew the day would come where i got fed up enough to contact someone else. i looked briefly into fedex, and then ups, and noticed that ups is alot cheaper than fedex. so i gave them my information, and am waiting for a reply. i don't know what their 'minumum' standards are, but am hoping i can qualify for something.
for anyone who uses ups, what's their overall service like? can you print via paypal postage slips the same way you can with canada post? breakage rate? timely delivery? also, do they include free packing supplies?

and finally, if i don't qualify for a discount, is there any discount at all even for just becoming a member/shipping at SOME level/free packing supplies??

i would love to hear any thoughts of ups users...

TIP-TOP-DEAL you can expect UPS to $#%^@ you royally and you will be out major bucks - you are lucky if you get back 10cents for each dollar of insurance you bought. Just wait and see - they did the same to us.

If you are unsatisfied with their insurance payment, which I am sure you will be - you can always send them an invoice for the balance and keep invoicing them and applying the interest and then file a small claims to collect your money - that will get the attention of their finance department -- we did the same and they never showed up in court and we automatically won our case and they were forced to pay -- we also reported a complaint against them with our local BBB (They hated that) and also local Chamber of Commerce.

If more people do this then upper management will take notice (somewhat) and hopefully make some changes.

Anyways, good luck to you.

I received a package through UPS once - a fee to be paid before receiving it, and thats after paying a hefty delivery charge. now, I don't buy anything from anyone on eBay that ships through UPS. All my shipping is done through Ebay/PayPal via Canada Post, paperwork is fast since it's basically fill in the blanks, considering I ship around 75 packages a week. At least they have a tracking number and even though it takes a while for delivery the postage is not bad. It takes about the same time to have a package sent from the States via USPS at it does to ship there via Canada Post. Have been really lucky, they have only lost 2 (small) items since I have been selling on eBay and they were not worth the hassle of a claim. I did try to go through their on line claims process. It didn't work. Better to swallow the cost than to be driven insane trying to figure it out.

wow. well, in any case, i had received an email last weeks stating ups would contact me within two days, and still haven't heard anything, so off to fedex i go.
i think in the end, the results/satisfaction all depends on what you send...content...dimensions, weight and destination, i know that a very large frame/print is cheaper with fedex than cp, and arrives much quicker.
i couldn't imagine a company worse than cp, but after reading this thread, i'm starting to wonder...

katiusciav,

I'm not sure if you have seen the announcement but UPS has just come out with a 6 month, flat rate shipping promotion on shipments to the U.S. For sellers, this means savings up to 45% off UPS's published rates.

For more information, please visit http://www2.ebay.com/aw/ca/200704.shtml#2007-04-04075705.

ANY UPS'ERS OUT THERE?

Thanks for the heads up however,
$13 Shipments up to 5 pounds
$17 Shipments from 5.1 to 10 pounds

does absolutely nothing for me as my average package is 20-40 pounds. Any idea why they capped the weight off at 10 lbs?

I just tried to register my UPS account # for the promo and it didn't accept it. I called customer support (UPS) and they said I have to go through ebay to resolve the problem. Is anyone else having problems registering for this promo?

Any suggestions?

Hey Lilybean
There seems to be a bug in the registration. My account is # is good according to UPS yet the system doesn't accept it. UPS says it's up to ebay to set things straight. Who should I contact???

hey harvey...i just tried a mock shipment, as i'm not currently using ups yet, but have been given an account number recently, so its not too important for me right now, but i'm sure if you email ebay, they'll look into the problem and have it addressed. yours probably wouldn't be the only one...good luck...
