Let's not forget that this is still a queens land and we are queen's subordinates. You save and save and buy a house for 300k and queen still can claim your house.

Tea, I paid hundreeds of dollars in Ontario medical surcharges and between 25-35k in federal and Ontario taxes combined last few years.

These numbers would not bother me. What somewhat bothers me is what I am getting back.

Protection? Give me a break. Police officers are merely speeding ticket fine collectors.

Healthcare? My dentist (of Canadian de-regulated dental industry) always quoting most expensive procedure charging $200-$300 per hour of his time that he may still split between 2 patients?

That is not a fraction of penny from my pocket.

Government contractors are overcharging like crazy. 8-10k worth of job elsewhere (which is not that much for washroom rework) easily inflates to 40k charged by a government contractor in historical building.
