Avoiding the Xmas hassle

I unusually schedule my listings so that I can end them all about the end of the first week in December and then start them up again about the end of the first week in January.

It is about that time again to start lining that process up - am I making a mistake?

I duno - I just figure it likely saves me a lot of Xmas hassle.

Any other opinions?

Re: Avoiding the Xmas hassle

I couldn't imagine closing the store, this is how I make a living, Christmas shoppers are welcome. I usually get a couple of unreasonable buyers this time of year that leave low DSRs or Neutral/Negative feedback Meh, just cost of doing business.

Even when I go on vacation leave my store open for selling with the "This seller is currently away until some misty time in the future. If you make a purchase, there may be a delay in processing your order." Notice displayed.

The Only bad thing about that is coming home to 100 decal kits that need production, packaging & shipping. One week off takes mee a week and a half to get caught back up.

Re: Avoiding the Xmas hassle

I usually keep my store open through the holidays but I remove listings for seasonal Xmas items about 2 weeks prior to Xmas.  A lot of people take vacation or time off work and have more time to shop.

I read a posting on the seller forum at the River this week that USPS is delivering on Sundays in the USA through the holidays.  One person had USPS show up at the door on Sunday to deliver a bag of dog treats she ordered lol!

Re: Avoiding the Xmas hassle

I always stay open during Christmas and other holidays.   At this time right now I am going to be listing lots more items just so they are available during Christmas.  People are off work for Christmas so they have time to sit down and browse.  Like everyone else, I get the questions...."will this arrive before Christmas?".   I include an expected delay message with every sale starting this upcoming weekend.   I sell low value items in higher quantity so one or two low feedback's doesn't hurt as much as some sellers.
