Billed over $3000 for turbo lister mistake

Freaking out here; during the last Canadian promotion I by error in 4 auctions added the category:

Automotive > Powersports > Personal Watercraft > Other PWC

What should have been 44 cents worth of promo auctions ended up over 3000 dollars. Oops would be an understatement here!

I turned fee check off in turbolister ages ago, never occurred to me this might happen...

The only contact I could find in this emergency is ebays "powerseller general question"??

Hopefully this will get resolved quickly before the next billing cycle

............man gotta be careful what you click in turbo lister financial mine field. I personally dont think that 1000 dollar fee automotive categories should be mixed in with regular ones...to easy to make a mistake.

Ugh!

In Turbo Lister I have found that it keeps kicking out the check-mark on US for my shipping choices. As such I have to bulk edit the listing just before uploading them.

I have a few listings that I feature with the $29.95 package in order to drive business to my store. During the last promotion I bulk edited about 100 listings...ONE of which had the $29.95 package attached. Somehow even though I didn't touch those settings during the edit, they ALL reverted to the full $29.95 feature package. Luckily I uploaded them as scheduled rather than list immediately and I caught the error before they listed. Whew! I can't afford $3000.00 in one day listing fees.

Be very careful when using Turbo Lister and triple check everything. There are just to many little bugs to make me comfortable.

Try calling store support - they have better response than regular support. Good luck - what a nightmare!

Every time I think about trying turbo lister I hear something else bad about it. Is it really worth it?

Mine keeps listing worldwide when I have set the defaults to Canada and the US. Have to keep checking my auctions for this glitch. Unforutately you cannot revert the auctions back to your defaults even when you edit your reciently listed items in Turbo Listed and perform a syncronization using the Turbo Lister program to your ebay auctions. They indicated when I called that they have not added this function to the programming to date.

Thanks for the advise, helped allot 🙂 no resolution yet.

Senario: Say if I sold boxes of party toothpicks at a penny each x 1000 fixed quantity, and its miscategorized somehow in an automotive category through personal or program error; ..... ide be billed 300,000 dollars each auction....if i listed 100 of them....it would be 3 billion dollars........for a click?

This senario could just as easly be the case here.........seems rediculous to me thats even possible.

I think there needs to be a secondary check system in turbolister.....like an alert if fees go over 100 dollars even if the fee check is turned off......just my opinion 🙂

That's just horrible. I don't understand why it would take so long to review this and provide a decision. Please keep updating your thread.

Day 13 no response from eBay......still out 3000 dollars.

""Thank you for writing to eBay Canada's Customer Support Team. ........we will strive to respond to you within 24 hours after receiving your email. However, there may be times when it will take up
to 72 hours for you to receive a response.""

Have they just decided to ignore me and keep my money?

I was getting married in a month, money was tight as is. Now my credit card is maxed out and I cant afford catering, rentals ect.... all this was explained to eBay.....what a mess, and all from a single mouse click.

Did you cancel the listings as soon as you realized the error?

J,
If you haven't been doing this already I think you should email a copy of your original letter to eBay Canada's Customer Support Team everyday that goes by with a heading "Day 13 no response from eBay......still out 3000 dollars". Day 14 and so on....Eventually you'll hit someone on the support team with half a brain who'll actually look into this problem. That's assuming there is a member on staff with half a brain.

Unfortunately no to the first 3 and yes to the 4th auction.

Mixed in with the 100 other 10 cent listings that all look identical in 'My eBay', i didn't catch it till the first 3 had already ended. The four one was a 10 day listing, just by pure chance I looked in 'my account' and caught the error....but a bit late.

I still dont get how out of 100 auctions how 4 converted to US site postings. I used same exact template for all of them.

Great idea. I didn't want to affect their decision by annoying them the first week but I think its past that point now? ever just feel like a guppy in a sharks pool.

Use your stores help phone number to contact a person in billing. They should be able to help you out. I've had a couple of billing issues cleared up using that number.

I think emailing them daily will only bring you more problems. They're not the swiftest in the first place and you'll only confuse them. Plus it'll have multiple people working on one file delaying support for the rest of us and really, how many stupid people do you want working on your problem anyways? 😉 One stupid answer's just as good as the next one isn't it? 😛

Talk to a person, use the stores number.

Yeah..there are way too many glitches with TurboLister and after chatting with the tech guys at eBay live for quite sometime decided it was well worth a few bucks to pay for a more automated system like SMP or Blackthorne..
Thankfully the worst listing accident with TL only set me back about $40 but after seeing this happen a few times, I decided it was no longer for me. I also found sometimes after clicking "save" here and then only to find out after a listing had been sent to auction that the changes had not been made.

Nothing seems to compare to TL's speed though when quickly creating, organizing and duplicating items though. I do miss it, but certainly not the headaches!
