I have no problem boycotting ebay. Unfortunately there have been calls for a boycott every Jan/Feb for the past 5 years. None have panned out.

*Yawn*

While I love your enthusiasm tea, I've been down this road many, many times.

I remember a few years back when there was a HUGE push afoot to picket eBay Live in San Jose. I think in the end 2 people showed up. LOL

Now here is a link to some interesting new tactics that I'll be watching...

Have you considered contacting the Canadian media?

So I was gonna tune in to Friday Night Fights on TSN....but I think this post and the others from the "Tea cup seller on the move" might turn out to be more entertaining.

Rules:
Helmets off
No whining

No whining

Very reasonable rule....unfortunately there are not too many who can resist.

We all have 2 choices as sellers. Sell on ebay or don't sell on ebay. Nobody is forcing us to be here. Ebay is in the business to make money just like everyone of us. If they want to raise their rates or change their policies it's up to them.
If we had a potential buyer email us saying they didn't like our prices, would we change our price. I think not. We wouldn't let any buyers dictate what price we should list at. Why should we have the right to dictate ebay's prices or policies?
Tea, I remember reading in one of your past posts that you won't sell to low FB buyers. I personally don't agree with that policy but it's non of my business how you choose to sell. If that works for you then good. ebays policies work for them.
Ebay is a seller just like us. They are selling their product to us. We choose to buy their product or not, just like any other buyers.
Tea I'm not trying to single you out it's just that I remembered that low FB policy of yours. I personally have nothing against you or any other seller here. I have the choice to accept anyones comments or not.

Remember, The key word is CHOICE

Thanks alero,

You speak from my heart!

Actually, newbies are some of my best customers. Yes, they require a bit more TLC but I find them overall to be quite eager to do everything right. For some, it's their first foray on eBay and it's scary for them.

A few "0" FB newbies I have turned into repeat customers....

The only problem with this is that the actions of one seller, wanting to block low feedback / new buyers is that it affects all other sellers as well. If I came to eBay to buy something and was told my money wasn't good enough by one seller I'd be inclined to leave and never come back.

This is the primary reason for all the changes to the feedback system, abuse of the system by a few sellers hurts all sellers.

Many years ago I worked in a large shopping mall, while every retailer was allowed to conduct business as they saw fit there were some general rules that applied to all in order to ensure a positive experience for shoppers. As with the eBay feedback changes not all these rules were popular but the overall aim and intent was good for everyone (both retailers and the customers).
