Buyer can't pay invoice because he lives in a country I apparently don't ship to...

Hi,

I'm in Canada, buyer is in Sweden and he says he can't pay the invoice it just gives him an error that says he lives in a country I don't ship to.

I normally would ship to Sweden, I'm sure I ship to Europe and all that but I don't list things very often and Ebay recently changed the way you post with all those stupid pre-gen setups. 😞 so I guess it's possible that it was listed as not shipping to sweden... .but why did it let him bid in the first place.  😠

My question is - how can I issue him an invoice he can pay? I can't change the shipping options on a closed item....

Thanks for any help

Send an invoice from PayPal.

Lon on to PayPal and click on the "Send an Invoice" link.  Take it from there.

I've run into this problem before, typically with a buyer using the mobile browser version of the site or the app. Have them load the site in the mobile browser, then force it to switch to the non-mobile version of the site by clicking the classic site link at the bottom of the homepage.

Huh?  What is a stupid pre-gen set-up?

In the majority of your listings there is no shipping price showing for outside of Canada. If there is no shipping cost then the buyer can't pay so it is important that your listings are set up properly. In your listings you suggest that a person message you for the cost but when buyers see that a shipping cost isn't specified, they often just skip over the listing altogether.

You say in your listings...

I can offer customers standard shipping with no tracking to save on cost but in the rare occurrence of it not arriving I take no responsibility.

You should have a look at ebay's money back guarantee as you are responsible if an item does not arrive...tracking or no tracking.  I've found that very few items do get lost even without tracking although that can vary by seller and category. You would likely sell more if you were using a more affordable shipping method but that is up to you.
