I have seen alot of Chinese sellers selling items for 0.99 cents with free shipping .. How do they do it ? Is there a less fee's for listing with a company from China ?

For example 270479862166 (they have tons)

I cant see how they can do it and turn a profit .. shipping alone to Usa is 1.05 usd :S i see lots of Chinese sellers selling items for 0.99 with free shipping . I cant figure it out .

I mean i love competing with Chinese all day long but this one drives me up the wall 😛

Even if they made 3 cents id understand but it looks like a 10-15 cent loss per transaction without ebay / paypal fee's which im sure they have to pay some ????

Im wanting to start a second ebay account in China i have a registered company / bank account there but dont know what the fee's are .

Hong-Kong post - HKD 2.50 to send 20g "parcel" to USA. Similar items go for approx $0.10 wholesale. After listing fee, PayPal and eBay fees, cost of item, shipping and envelope this seller is left with zero or negative. This is a feedback and traffic building item.

At the mere cost of inserting worthless item into envelope at relatively small financial loss they actually get a marketing data (what persons like and shops for, etc). With China labor cost it comes probably less than price of one Adwords click.

This is a marketing account. They make serious money off eBay.

Actually after the second look on their sold listings, this person makes money. You just stumbled on the feedback building item.

I think it's very useful to look at the methods successful Hong-Kong and China sellers deploy to sell on eBay - there is lot to learn by analyzing their sales. This guy has 8-10,000 sales per month selling junk. Amazing!

$2 handling fee might not seem like much, but it adds up when you sell a hundred thousand.

I was looking in their sold items and noticed this item #270506118291 sold for 1 cent.

First, I didn't realize auctions could start at .01 and second....not sure how you make money off of this unless it is a leader listing like grocery and/or other stores use to lure one in.

Likely, there's a handling charge that doesn't appear until you go through checkout.

And the guy will be harvesting email addresses and selling them on the side.

I checked out shipping its around 1.35 or so .. The cheaper shipping The one thats like 70-80 cents is surface mail that takes 30-45 business days .

Are the Fee's the same in china for Receiving money / EBay fee's ?

I paid 1.04 for some crappy ring Everything was kosher no extra fee's ect . Just 1.04 :S

1.04 .. Product cost 20 cents = 84 cents - 1.00 shipping = 0.16 cent's loss + ebay / paypal fee's ..

Is a email address worth 1.00 + ???

Just dosent make seance to me :S

I gave up trying to figure it out long time ago after buying a fair bit just to check the quality (most of which sucks, BTW).

The best I could figure is the seller has a friend that works in a factory and puts a full box outside the backdoor of the factory every shift lol.

Companies easily pay $1 for a click on their AdWord, while they know nothing about the person who made the click.

Email address is much better.

If you sell it in a list 10,000 times, yes.

And it's not just an email address - it's the email address of a jewelry buyer - that is a qualified lead and it'll raise the rate a bit.

I think maybe some of my UPI buyers also sell email addresses. I have been getting emails from manufacturers from overseas for sports jerseys. Directly addressed to me, outside of eBay.

Yes, I've run into that as well.

One of my buyers has put me on his email mailing list - There's about 100 or so names that come with the list, fills up most of the first page when it comes in.

However much I hate the intrusion, he does have some good stuff on his mailings, so I haven't done anything about it.

You also might get customers promoting you on the forums they go to and they might do something like, "Go see this person......" and give out your email address.

All part of the package, I suppose.

That's why it's a good idea to have one email account where you get the "low rate" emails.

I get about 600 emails a day to the email address I use here on eBay, and 550+ is related to male pharmacology, higher education accreditation, fortunes from Nigeria, and electronics from Asia.

Spam filters and Outlook automations get a good handle on the situation, and if a few do get trough, it's just the cost of doing online business, I guess.

My very personal email gets 10 emails a month, and all of them are either important or otherwise appropriate.

And those who have it understand that if it gets leaked, they get a visit from me... 🙂
