Can someone tell me where I can get information on PayPal regarding a shipment made to China

Need assistance.  I made a shipment to a customer in China.  The shipment was not sent as a tracked package by mistake.  It has gone astray.  Where do I get info as to what happens now.  I have the postal receipt for the package that my wife dropped off at the post office.  Who initiates the lost package claim?  Me or him?  What happens to my account with PayPal?  The package was for a fair amount and I do not want to refund directly as this would put me out over $150.  Help !!

Thank you

If you have no tracking from Canada Post and did not purchase third-party insurance, you have no way of initiating a claim with anyone for a lost package. I'm sorry to tell you this.

Also, I believe most Canadian sellers only ship to China with tracking for the reason you are experiencing. If they ship there at all.

I can assume from what you've written that the buyer went directly to the Resolution Centre and that you now have a freeze on those funds in your paypal account? There's nothing you can do but refund the money to the buyer. As the sender, you need Proof of Delivery, not Proof of Shipment. Without it, you've no seller protection whatsoever.

It is a hard lesson learned. Unfortunately.

But perhaps another member can give you a different opinion that might offer more hope.

A good divorce lawyer?

Sorry. The item was probably delivered just fine. The international postal system works very well indeed.

Your customer was probably delighted when he noticed that there was no tracking on the parcel.

Sorry.
