Canada Only...

I'm loving it. For some time now I've been ignoring US sellers that use GSP...and since it's so difficult to filter them out of a search I've been ignoring even the ones that don't. In other words, I ignore them all. I'm saving time and money and it's amazing how eliminating thousands of US  listings how  Ebay has become more of a pleasure...a better treasure hunt. Not only that, I've discovered that shipping from Europe is cheaper as well. I just hope Ebay doesn't take away the Canada Only option!

The European shipping is a pleasure.

Considering distances are further and integration somewhat weaker, the lack of paranoia about dealing with other nations and the quick arrival of parcels is a joy.

As long as you shop on eBay.ca, that option should always be there.

FWIW, you can filter out GSP items. Use "List View" (not "Gallery View" to search for items. The View setting is located in the upper right-hand corner of your search page, next to the "Sort" option.

With List View, the GSP items are identified by a pale grey blurb which reads "Customs services and international tracking provided". That makes it easy to skip right over them.

Another problem with some US sellers is the inappropriate use of expensive mailing services for cheap items. Many think that they need end-to-end tracking for every item, especially outside of the US because they think the rest of the world is just one gigantic black hole that swallows all packages coming from the US. A small and light $10 item shipping Priority or, worse, Express mail? Pass!

Then there are the lazy ones who can't be bothered to quote cheaper shipping to Canada, meaning that you pay the same as you would if you were in Australia. Those are usually also a waste of time from a Canadian buyer's perspective.
