Can anybody confirm that sending item that valued over $200 by Expedited Parcel USA (not commercial) won't be ending in forcefully paid castom clerance agains your Canada post account?
That was the case for comerrcial parcel in the past for me, when I have paid $60 for brokerage to Canada Post ....

Could you rephrase that please. Are you asking if you ship an item, from Canada to the USA, value over $200, will you be charged a brokerage fee? Is this correct?

By the letter of the law, a US citizen is allowed to import up to $200 per item, not being subject to any taxes and you as the sender, not being subject to any brokerage fees, sending by post. Hopefully someone else will come along to confirm this however, I am fairly sure it is accurate.

Hmm... insuficient information...
Generally speaking, the receiving carrier on the other side of the border pays the customs clearance fee, which for Canada Post is $8 and for USPS about half that. Commercial vs non commercial has little to do with it.
I commonly ship and receive items up to $2k both Expedited and ExpressPost and I've never heard of such an occurance, so there is a missing piece of information, perhaps you are shipping controlled substances subject to penalties ?
Common carrier parcel services like UPS Purolator etc, charge what the market will bare, which is $40.oo plus applicable taxes for UPS, not sure what Purolater charges these days, something more disgusting probably 😉

UPS will charge buyer for brokerage, but Canada Post charge sender (i.e you) for customs brokerage on Commercial Expedited USA service.
