As of 11/2010 CP now seems to request:
Proof of contents value
CN22 declaration
Proof of postage paid
For every single claim. What a PITA.
I just include 10 pages of supplier invoices with every claim now (the same ones every time)
Seems to work...

How are you doing your claims?
The second last time I phoned, the clerk said something to the effect of "Oh, you've only had three claims in the past few years. I can process that right away" and I had a cheque in the mail a week or so later.
But that was in 2009.
So I guess they keep an eye on the number of claims from a given person. Which makes sense, since they are basically running on an honour system.
"Trust in God, but count the cards."
Given the value of your instruments, I guess you are doing much higher value claims than I would on my cheap books. Which would also make a big difference.

Our claims are anywhere from $10 to $100 (the max allowed) and I do them via phone-in.
I did speak with a supervisor and she informed me that they had changed their system in November and that was now standard procedure.

That's interesting that they want the customs declaration too.
Bernie you said that you include supplier's invoices. Does that mean that you are claiming what the item cost you,not what the buyer paid?
