I've using the VentureOne Discount for about 2 years, and just called canadapost to get a level one discount which they said i have to ship 750 parcels within Canada per year, but they said they won't keep track of how many parcels i am mailing, i have to count how many parcels i ship each year. So, i guess i can tell them i ship more than the actual number and get to the level 2 discount right?

Yes, we know Canada Post monitors this.

I now only use Canada Post in instances where FedEx Ground considers a postal code rural and wants to add $10 to the shipping fee. FG has servd me extremely well, and I have some nice discounts in place which put me close to what I was getting with Canada Post - better on larger packages, slightly worse on smaller ones thanks to tiered rates.

I send most of mine small packet. Do they count in the 750?
Thanks for the info. I mostly sell cd-rom and dvds. I get so mad that I have to act like houdini everytime I visit the post office. If I ship them small packet then my shipping price is at least 2 times more than my competitors.

CDs and DVDs go Letter Post. Just buy stamps and stick them on.

Wasn't the whole 'small packet light' thing designed to prevent non-paper items being sent via international letterpost?

Log on to the CP OBC & go into the store area. You'll need to input a credit card number even though the shipping envelopes are free.

CDs and DVD's cannot go letter post to the States since July. They must go lightpaket air for 3.74. The problem is that you can't put on stamps anymore (I used to do this for letter post). You MUST have this G/F O/S sticker that you can ONLY print out at the post office. Lightpacket air is not available online through paypal or click in a ship. I have had several conversations with Canada Post about how easy and convenient it is to drag 2 small children to the Post office everyday because I CAN'T print out the stupid G/F sticker. I told them I am seriously looking at scanning them!!
In Canada, I can still send them letter post without the sticker. I am sure that will change too.
Lightpacket air does not offer insurance and I have to manually fill out the same form as small packet air.
What a pain, whenever I am waiting for someone to talk to at Canada post I always here the message playing about Canada post making it so easy for ebay sellers too ship. The message states how Canada post saves ebay sellers time and money. Really? Please tell me how!!!

I Just opened an account with contract ( switched from VENTURE ONE) and I found out that it is a load of crap to ship it with Canadapost instead of Paypal.
I tried to compare two shipments, it was more expensive with Canadapost with the contract than with Paypal.
I am not sure what is the problem .. I have my contract number there and every thing can any one advise me on that
Thank you

Make sure that you have actually input your contract number into your account info/preferences. They did NOT do this automatically for me.

I find significant savings on Canadian expedited parcel costs over Paypal shipping. There is no deal on US or international shipping.

Thank you for your input.
Do you think the Canadian xpresss is better with Canadapost ? or it has no value to switch.
I also have a question about Paypal..
do you think that the Bank affects how fast the payment go through Paypal..
I deal with CIBC and it takes me 4-6 BD to get my money from the moment i send the money on Ebay
