Yea, I'm not touching that one with a ten-foot pole. I've decided to have my last auction/fixed price listings end on Wednesday anyway. Selling during the last week isn't worth the headache of rush shipping expectations from customers, particularly when UPS won't back you up if they don't make it.

I'm going to retart my 7 day auctions without a fixed price option on the 18th so there is no expectation that sold items will arrive prior to Christmas.

This particular offer will be useless for the type of product I offer , average shipping wt is 35 lbs , if I add EXPRESS SHIPPING charges to the already high UPS shipping fees , sales will be pretty much non-existant.

I am glad that I checked this out...I too have had nothing but headaches with US buyers getting upset and stressing out when their items arent there "the next day".

You have to remember that your US buyers are used to faster shipping within the USA and the way to stay in there and somehow compete is to ship out immediately within 24 hours. If sales have occurred on a Friday or the weekend or during a long weekend THIS CAN RESULT IN DELAYS OF 3-4 DAYS by the time shipping happens.Notify your buyers as soon as possible after the sale has happened and advise them of the upcoming delay and the reason .It may mean a request for a faster shipping method but it is a pre-emptive strike against those irritating complaint emails about WHERE are my purchases ?.Also if your client is paying by money order and the logistics here can result in a 14 day shipping delay , advise again about the shipping time factor. At the end of the day it is all about communications and helps us to keep the complaints factor to an acceptable level.
