Why is there a 4 to 5 cent on the dollar difference from eBay to markets?

Paypal always take 4-5 cent by $ to convert your Can $ to US $... it's a standard conversion fee.

Look at the eBay/Paypal rate.

Look at the market rate on xe.com

Look at the rate on http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cgi-bin/travel/currency-converter.pl  which is the Royal Bank*.

There is no one rate. And all those rates could change on a moment's notice.

*I looked this up yesterday and it was $1 to 90¢. Today it is $1.00 to 89¢.
