Classic case of item not received, then the item arrives the next day. If I had a dollar for everytime that happened. Except this time a case for INR was opened by the buyer, item arrives a day later, I receive a message saying that the buyer will contact ebay (to close case.... I will assume the buyer did make contact, I have messaged to verify this,but no response yet.). 4 days pass and the case is still open, funds are froze in paypal. Is this normal, does ebay/paypal take their time to close a case after the buyer contacts them that everything is ok ? Naturally ebay expects me to respond to the case within 7 days of the case opening, but there is no option to report that the buyer is satisfied/item received. I'm not sure what the next step is.
Additional details: Item shipped by small packet air, so no tracking number, though was shipped while there was still insurance available. Good communication was made prior to the case in regards to estimated shipping time and advising about slow mail service due to Christmas / possible border crossing/customs delays. Item arrived 3 weeks (13 bus. days) after purchase to the USA from Canada. Item arrived in the estimated delivery time given. A little anxiety perhaps from the buyer especially after having communication.
I realize that small packet is a risk for not having the tracking number for seller protection.. blah blah blah., no discussion needed there. The question is, do I reply to the case with " item shipped without tracking " and type a message saying the buyer has received item? Or do I wait until ebay/paypal releases the funds or the buyer responds with confirmation that they did make contact with ebay. Time is ticking and there is about a day or two when I am required to respond to the case. I could not find instructions on what to do, I have not dealt with a case like this before. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
