I shipped my 2end shipment from China to Usa (container) cost me 1800 to move the whole thing from warehouse in china to warehouse in Usa took 2.5 weeks .
Shipped a container from china to Vancouver took 6 weeks from port to my warehouse (central canada) cost 6000 to move .
Canada + Ebay = $
Usa + Ebay = $$$$$
Not to mention I have had more wholesale enquirers / Sales having locations in the usa in 1 month than i had all year with being only in canada .
There is not a single positive about doing business online in canada its nothing but headache after headache .
Sorry canada post you make Canada a horrible place to do online commerce your the #1 Problem .

Wow, never realized there was such a cost difference in moving the container. Check out my post in thread called "Shipping cost", I mentioned the differences between doing business in USA and Canada. CanadaPost is probably contributing to the problem the most, but also supply chain has issues.
Some Canadian retail companies simply buy RETAIL in USA and throw it to Canadian market and have good life without keeping too much stock.
In my opinion Canadians are simply "used to" pay more: clothes, cell phones and plans, food, brokers, sales tax, etc. While corporate tax in Canada is mostly LOWER than that in USA, regular folks without business number are taxed way more and there are hidden cost embedded in the goods.
Canada is excellent place to do business in my opinion. You can import cheap and sell expensive. It seems New Brunswick is aggressively attracting companies and wants to become new tax heaven province. Ontario is currently one of the best places to be too (for companies, that is).

Comparing the 40ft container cost and delivery time of
a) China Mainland to Los Angeles
b) China Mainland to Manitoba
isn't really fair. The cost of a 40ft container from China Mainland to Vancouver, BC takes about 2.5 - 3.5 weeks and cost about $2000 USD.
Canadapost is the real cost stumbling point - I agree with that.
