Comicbook selling and shiping from Canada to the US

So I am new to Ebay, I want to sell some of my comic book collection. What I need to know is from someone in Canada who sells comics books and ships to the US. I need to know how much it cost you to ship a single comic book to the US, how much it cost you to ship 5 comics books to the US, and 10. Also I need to know what shipping method you are using from Canada Post.

Comicbook selling and shiping from Canada to the US

Here is the Canadian Tire page for the Starfrit 5kg scale that has been posted here a few times.

http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/kitchen/tools-utensils/specialty-tools/starfrit-5-kg-digital-kitch...

Regular price is $24.99 but it goes on sale for $9.99 about every month or two months.

Even though it is a kitchen scale, it is accurate and easy to use. I have a $50 postal scale (Sunbeam digital but only to 2.5 kg) and the both weigh the same within a gram or two.

The Starfrit above should be on sale soon.

Nobody will be able to tell you that you will have to put the elbow grease into it to find the answer ....

Depending on sizes and wieght it will vary in price so you will have to do some mock ups and go check on Canada post by typing in wieght and dimensions...

Some method have no tracking and some do so decide if you feel the need to protect yourself by using tracking or not or how you want to package them and many people will use a $$ value to decide whether tracking is worth it or not ...

All price to the US are flate rate so it will cost you the same to ship to michigan as it will cost to ship to Ohio  so unlike Shipping within Canada where the rate changes by province the US is flat rate so you do not have to check on every state just 1 ....

Someone might be able to give you rough guesses on prices but no exact unless they have the exact weights and dimensions so do not go by what people guess as nobody can know exaclty how much except for the guy with the product........

Pointers

Tracking will prevent you from having someone file and win Item not received case but if the value of the comic is low I would take the risk and go without tracking to make the sale... Your choice

Ebay charges you a % of the total Sale so price and shipping but they charge you % of your lowest domestic shipping cost so if you put  Domestic shipping free and work it in the price you will be charge $0 on your international shipping charges ......

Well the only issue with that is I have no scale to weigh any package, I figured there are 1000's of people who sell comics books on ebay who are from Canada and can give me the quick averages and which method works best for them, but thanks for the response.

Buy a scale as you will need one. Over 20 mm thick and it has to go as a parcel. You have the variables of weight, thickness, and value. There is no simple answer.

I mail parcels worldwide:

                             Canada          USA      World

0-250grams            $11                $8         $11

251-500                  $11               $11       $21

501-1K                   $11               $16        $41

canadapost.com is your friend.

Comic books that have value you will want to put between cardboard sheets, wrap, put in a rigid mailer. Supplies cost money unless you are good at dumpster diving.

You will need a scale, tape, box cutter, scissors, cardboard, packing tape, tape dispenser, ruler.

Try wrapping a few and take them to the PO. Ask them how much. They will want to know to where so, have a zip code or postal code handy.

Lemme re-phrase. Those are small packet prices, no insurance, no tracking. Ya want insurance and tracking? Double, triple, quadruple those prices.

You "think" you are asking a simple question, you are not. One questions can have a lot of answers all based on "it depends".

Look at other comic book sellers' listings. See what they charge for shipping.

Just check the Canada post website no need to go there ....

It is not questions you need to ask it is some simple research .... Don't take that the wrong way ...

Just saying even the examples above will not really help to much without you determing how to ship them on individual basis ..

1 Comic book worth $5 no point in charging $11-$15 for shipping

1 Comic book worth $200 you should ship Expedited with tracking

1 Comic book worth over $250 you should ship with Xxpresspost and signature confirmation

I mean you could ship a comic book withing Canada for $2.51 cents if it is the right weight and same with US you can ship for as little as $4.28 if the size and weight is right ....

Anyways Check Canadian tire for a nice reliable scale for under $20 ... I can not remember the name but I bought it 5 years ago and they still sell them and they are very durable and reliable and I know this thanks to my 3 year old and my wife 😉

Good luck

Starfrit 5kg kitchen scale, hasn't been in the flyer recently so it's due for the usual 50% sale.

When I was new to selling I ordered from a few people to see how things were packaged and mailed. You are asking your future competition to just tell you how to do stuff so you can compete with them for sales.
