DSR Warning Message when listing

Has anyone noticed this message when listing? I am trying to find out if I am compliant but the link they give to the selling practice policy does not work. I'm assuming it's popping up on my listings because I do mention "5 star ratings". However, I only mention it in a positive way and to the best of my knowledge am not violating the Selling Practice Policy.

"A listing can't include statements that may discourage buyers from leaving honest Feedback. You also can't mention the possible penalties for not meeting eBay's seller performance standards

For example, you can't say things like:

*

"If I receive more than a few detailed seller ratings (DSRs) of less than 5, eBay will penalize me."
*

“Why would you want to give Negative or Neutral anyway? ”
*

"eBay holds me to a standard well above 4 stars so only leave 5 stars."
*

"4 stars will get me suspended, so please only leave 5 stars."
*

"Feedback will be left for you once your positive feedback has been left”

If your listing includes this kind of information, please edit it before posting it on eBay. Otherwise, this could prevent you from achieving Top-rated seller status or could get you removed from the program

For more info, see selling practices policy."

DSR Warning Message when listing

"A listing can't include statements that may discourage buyers from leaving honest Feedback. "

Before negative feedback is left, the purchaser is asked if he has contacted the seller to try to work things out. Unless he/she has indicated that she has, negative feedback cannot be left.

I know 100% sure that the last three negatives I got were posted like lightning, without a word of communication. Is that considered "honest" feedback?

I couldn't find anything more specific than what crafty posted above.

Before negative feedback is left, the purchaser is asked if he has contacted the seller to try to work things out. Unless he/she has indicated that she has, negative feedback cannot be left.

So the purchaser can just "lie" about contacting a seller first and then leave a negative & "honest" feedback.

I would like to know eBay's definition of "honest" 'cause it sure isn't the same as mine.

These are 'bots scanning your content; obviously the phrase '5-star ratings' is triggering the message. Try changing the wording slightly.

I agree, but it's not stopping me from listing...just pointing out that I need to make sure I am not violating the policy. I was just wondering if there was any other info about this out there. I am still doing edits since January with over 100 more listings in limbo waiting...lol...don't want to start editing again!

DSR Warning Message when listing

Well I got my answer. The warning message has changed to the following:

Statements such as “I strive to deliver 5-star customer service” are a great way to let buyers know you are focused on customer satisfaction. However, you aren’t allowed to discourage buyers from leaving specific detailed seller ratings or Feedback. Buyers should feel comfortable leaving honest Feedback. Any statements that discourage this practice, including the mention of the possible penalties for not meeting eBay’s seller performance standards are not allowed.

For example, you can't say things like:

*

"If I receive detailed seller ratings (DSRs) of less than 5, eBay will suspend me."
*

"eBay holds me to a standard well above 4 stars so only leave 5 stars." ”
*

""Feedback will be left for you only after your positive feedback has been left.”

If your listing includes this kind of information, please edit it before posting it on eBay. Otherwise, this could prevent you from achieving Top-rated seller status.

I guess a lot of people must have mentioned something!
