They don't do so well.... too bad they don't have competition... maybe then they would care more for the people who pay all the fees....
Like I commented in past posting - the new feedback system is going to be a major problem for those of us that sell into the USA and use CanadaPOST for shipping.
Specifically when it comes to the SHIPPING/DELIVERY TIME rating which I see as an unfair comparison between what USPS offers versus what CP offers. I understand that it is only one (1) rating out of the LOT but still I feel that it will deter some buyers from buying based on the POOR/SLOW/LONG delivery time being reported by past buyers.
What eBaY has failed to realize it that NOT ALL SELLERS can afford to ship items using a courier service not to mention the brokerage costs associated with some cross border shipments.
Our experience over the past 90 days is that the average delivery time for a CanadaPOST shipment into the various regions of the USA as followS:
(1) East Coast Region -> 7 to 9 days
(2) Central/Mountain Region -> 10 to 14 days
(3) West Coast Region -> 14 plus days
(NOT INCLUDING WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS)
Having spoken to CanadaPOST about these excessive long delivery times their comment back to us is that they are working on trying to improve the process however no timeframes were mentioned nor promised.
We have also noticed a 20% increase in our insurance claims for LOST / DAMAGED GOODS -> CanadaPOST admits that this too is something that they are working on resolving and that the problem lies with their broker/agent in the USA that handles the parcels.
On a brighter note, the insurance claim process is quite easy and quick now (for items under $100) with payment checks being process in 5-10days rather than weeks.
Any others out their experiencing the same issues/problems??
