Did anyone else get the following email?

Supposedly from eBay offering 6,000 free listings for fixed price.

I don't like opening links, and it is not on my eBay page or the announcements on .com or .ca.

Good idea Mr Elmwood. Either that pair, or Bonnie and Clyde. With eBay as our victim, lol.

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

Ok...Started relisting my ended items, and I had 4 that had been listed on .com ... and now it shows in my 'promotional offers' on my eBay page that I have 6000 free listings...but only .com not .ca (where most of my listings are). I only have 79 items on .com, due to their postage cap on books and other media, which is what most of my items are. Gawd!! So not good for me. I still have over 400 free remaining on .com from the 1st of this month.

List one "fixed price" on eBay.ca and the promotional offer should show up at that time showing 1 listing with 5,999 to go

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

It doesn't. I've relisted approximately 500 listings on .ca this morning, and nothing. Is it supposed to be for .ca as well, then?

"I've relisted approximately 500 listings on .ca this morning,"

Were they all fixed price at 30 days (not GTC which is not eligible for the promotion) ?

"...and nothing."

Did you check your seller's account to confirm all have been charged a listing fee?

If so, contact eBay's customer service and they will credit your fees.

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

From the listing promotion page:

Please note: For sellers listing with any tool other than the latest version of the Sell Your Item form (SYI 3.0), the Promotional Rate will not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "View Account Status" section in My eBay, as well as in your next invoice.

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

Yes...they are all fixed price and 30 days. And I was charged 6 cents Canadian (5 cents US) for each of them. I will call eBay later as I have to go out right now. Hopefully I'll get refunded. Fingers crossed. 🙂

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

I got e-mails on both of my accounts (I haven't listed anything in 2 years on my spare account) and I see the 1000 listings offer on My Ebay page.

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

Ok...after speaking to 2 reps, I was told that the promotion of 6000 free listings from April 29th to the 4th May was for the US only. But they said, as a courtesy, they would refund me the cost of the listings I listed yesterday, which they finally did this morning. I was told though that any other listings I posted from now until the end of the promotion I would be charged for if I list on .ca.

So I am going to wait until tomorrow to list more, as I will then have my free 500. And hopefully before my next big relisting day, we will have a Canadian promotion. Dare I hope?

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

"was for the US only"

Those reps are wrong!  Again!

http://pages.ebay.com/promo/2014/0429/1000ADay.html

"Sellers can list 1,000 listings per day, for a maximum of 6,000 listings over the 6-day period, as part of this Promotion on the US site at www.ebay.com, eBay Motors at www.ebay.com/motors (Parts & Accessories and Automotive Tools & Supplies only), eBay Canada at www.ebay.ca,"

Which part of this message do they not understand?

From my "Selling Manager":

Is there any quality control?

Apparently not.  They expect us to be perfect.  If we rated their "defects" they would be NARU'ed.

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

Another chunk of my life I won't get back, lol. Ah well..hopefully that is the last of my loooong phone calls, 'hah'! Anyway, to cut a long phone call short, they now say that any fees I incur between now and the end of the promotion will be credited back to me on May 5th and they will call me on that day to confirm. He tried to tell me originally that I didn't meet seller requirements! Like, gimme a break! Me? Impossible! I soon put him to rights there...what a cheek! 😄

Re: Did anyone else get the following email?

The question of "free shipping" not available to you and lack of adequate information supplied by eBay representatives has been addressed today on the Weekly Board Hour:

Thanks Pierre, for bringing it to their attention. Let's hope that it gets resolved before the next promo.

Unfortunately, do not count on it.

After fifteen years on eBay the one thing I have learned is that eBay Inc (San Jose) gives very little priority to solving technical issues affecting Canadians.  We are simply not important enough to warrant any priority.

The Canadian staff in Toronto may want to identify and solve the issues but they are not in control.  As we have seen time and time again, the folks in San Jose control the agenda.
