Didn't receive my item..should I give seller another chance to send?

Hi, I bought an item but hasn't received it, it's been over 45+ days. Seller claims it takes 35-45 days to arrive. I opened my request last week and the seller requested me to wait 1 more week. Now that it still hasn't arrive I informed the seller who asked me if I'm willing give him another chance by shipping me the item once more. The problem is this will take at least another 35-45 days to arrive and if it still doesn't arrive then my case would be closed and I would be SOL on getting my money back right? Should I give him another chance or just ask for refund?

I recommend a refund at this point in time.  If you are still comfortable with the seller, purchase (after getting the refund) another one from the seller as a replacement. That way you are covered.

eBay gives you 30 days after last estimated delivery date to file a INR (Item-Not-Received)

PayPal gives you 180 days from time of payment (approx 6 months).

This is a well known scam out of Asia.

The original item was never mailed either.

The replacement will not arrive ever.

Go to the Dispute and immediately to the Claim.

You have already been in contact with the seller so you can skip that step.

If he cannot prove Delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.

Some international shipments will take 2-3 months. If you are protected by PayPal's 6 months protection, then perhaps wait it out and get a refund if it doesn't come after 2 months. The seller will be more likely to refund you if they don't have to ship it twice.

If you don't get the product, and even if you do, next time I recommend purchasing from Canadian Sellers. Here is a screenshot of "Canada only" items on the left side of all searches on the classic site. You can also do this on the eBay mobile app in the search results filter button.

Lots of eBay Canadian sellers price items extremely competitively for any market/country. For example, my store, like a lot of Canadian sellers, has very competitive pricing, and you don't have to worry about the logistics of international shipping
