Do Not Ship To Some Locations

I noticed that on a few websites they do not ship to Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon.  Any idea why?

Thanks!!

Have never shipped to the Yukon or the NWT, but i found shipping a couple of times to Nunavut can  be very pricey.

That is probably the reason.

Do Not Ship To Some Locations

Hello,

The main reason tat sellers do not want to mail to these locations is that the Postage is very expensive as compared to other North American locations. If an item is low priced and the shipping is very high- EBAY takes a percentage of the final value fee on  the item and on the shipping! even though the seller is not making money on the shipping - they are loosing money on each item. Example: I sold a box of bulky craft items to someone in Greece - the auction ended and i sent the buyer an invoice - the shipping was about 60$, the final fee on that was so much that I would have lost money on the sale (the box went for about 10$. The buyer refused to pay - saying the shipping was too high.

I NO LONGER SELL TO Greece.

I think Canada Post considers the north to be "stage points" or something like that and charge about 3X what the south pays. I think if you go to Canada Post website and use the shipping calculator and do a mock up to send to Nunavut - you will find out it is way too much for a lot of things.

The remoteness of the North is why northerners get a Northern Living Allowance on the income tax...
