Hi
I have had this account for more than 10 years. I am not an avid buyer and i have never sold anything .I kept it just for buying small odds and bits cheaper than i would find in store. , last night when i wanted to buy a battery i found out that Ebay suspended my account for fraud?!!! I had to call customer service at the number provided. I was full of confidence that this situation will be cleared in few minutes and i will gain access back to my account .Such a terrible mistake. The representative and the .."manager" (it was just a different voice really) were EXTREMELY unhelpful, just kept repeating "we cannot see you logging in on the same computer we have on file" , the same computer that i have been using the past 5 years.Their solution was to create a new account. Really?! What about all the reputation/positive feedback i have been building all these years? Very frustrating to say the least. I do not understand why did i have to set up security questions and such if i am not even given a chance to use them. Also my phone number they had on file was not right so couldn't use. Of course i have updated my internet provider, router and some other things on my end, but would that prevent anyone to use legitimately his account? At this point i am very disappointed with Ebay and the way they handle these incidents. Why can't i be sent some mail(paper mail) at the address on file with some code that i would verify with them? Banks do a similar thing when sending sensitive info. There are so many other ways one can verify the identity of the client. Is there anyone at Ebay that i can write and maybe provide an alternate form of verification. The only option when i click on help is the ever useless phone number to contact client care.
And i cannot do that anymore. It's an exercise in futility. If anyone knows a way to help getting back my account please let me know
Thank you !!!

I am sorry to ran into that security problem with eBay.

I think you have clearly identified the problem which led to the security "red flag" by eBay.
The fact you are able to post here suggests your account is not "suspended". Most likely a prohibition of bidding/buying at this time.
I suggest you contact rapahel@ebay.com with all details of the problem. He may be able to help or at least refer you to someone who can.
Be patient. eBay takes security of the site seriously and these security problems are not solved in a day or two.

i've had the same problem of bad customer service or lack of it.
After ten years i finally figured out that the best solution is move all my buy it now to Amazon.com

Obviously you've never read the river forums.
Or you'd know that you can also expect "bad customer service or lack of it" over on the river.
