Excessive pre-sale requests - indication of trouble customer ?

If a lead keeps asking the same thing over and over (give discount) and not reading your explanations why you cannot do it, is it a good idea to can him after 7th email ?

Well I did. My pricing model is based on "get in, pick your stuff, pay, get out". Walmart style. I cannot offer car-dealership-like pre-sales babysitting or I will go bankrupt.

What is your opinions ?

I would have done it long before the 7th email!
I'm happy to answer questions about an item but if someone insists on getting a discount that you don't want to give, you're wasting your time dealing with them

If it is a happy day I might respond the 2nd time and politely mention that I already explained things to them, but after that, they get BLOCKed and I don't respond to anything else from them. They'll likely be even more trouble when they get it if you eventually did sell something to them!

Excessive pre-sale requests - indication of trouble customer ?

Good to hear, thank you all. I was wondering if I am not getting too trigger happy. The guy was upset, he said "I just asked for a small discount, that's all".

Here on eBay the customer service takes approx 30-40% of my time. On my website CS is approx 1/10th of eBay with approx 1/2 eBay sales volume - fewer orders, but larger. Also all chargebacks and PayPal claims are exclusively eBay orders. My descriptions are auto-generated and are identical on both places. Wonder why eBay buyer needs more babysitting. It must be the venue issue.

Some days are days of questions, I have had days with 40 emails on eBay to answer.

Yes, i agree that problematic buyer seem to ask lot of question.

Again i am not saying all, so please don't put word in my mouth 🙂

My experience, like yours shows that these people started sending you ending request, change their mind, or don't buy at all.
