I received four negatives from a purchaser in the past few days. I sit and wonder where this will take my business.
The four Christian Dior necklaces I sold came with Christian Dior tags. One side has the name "Christian Dior" and the other side shows the Sku # and Bar Codes. There used to be a small flap on the end showing the original retail price in dollars but are no longer part of the tags. This is where the problem came in. Purchaser was outraged and accused me of everything under the sun except for shooting JFK. I offered a full refund plus return shipping cost. She refused to return, wanted a 30% discount. ($135.90) I refused. And so on, and so on, and so on.........

No, I haven't but I will today. I needed the time to calm down and to think things through. I am very gratefull to my fellow sellers for their support and good advice. I can't Thank You all enough for your kindness and help.

If they came with tags including brand name and sku#, but the price part removed, I think this is okay, because a lot of resellers remove the price from tag, and in some cases is necessary in order to resell an item. Not for sure though if the tag or just price is supposed to be removed for certain reasons, I've heard this before, depends on brand I think or what type of item. I looked at one of your sold necklaces, and it doesn't show the other side of tag, just the DIOR brand side. If they received this tag, then it should be fine. If the buyer demands a discount or change in sale after they purchase an item, this is against ebay rules as stated in their feedback policy. If they threaten you with negative feedback if you don't do as they ask, this is feedback extortion. Sounds like ebay isn't doing their job again!
The tags included had "Christian Dior" on one side and the Sku # and Bar Codes on the other. The original retail price is not included on the tags and none of my listings say that there is a price tag. She is a seller and knew enough not to threaten with negative feedback. She also knows that as a buyer she had the upper hand. I would have paid her the partial discount but I knew it would not make a difference. She was beyond reasoning. She even filed a claim with PayPal for "External Damage".
It was opened, escalated to a claim and closed all in one day before I even had a chance to respond. (Notices went to my spam folder) PayPal says she closed it, she says PayPal solved the claim for her. When I questioned her about what happened, she wrote to say that if I don't stop harassing her, she will file a dispute with her credit card company for the balance.
I have contacted the other sellers that received a negative from her. None of them could reason with her. General opinion is that she is one very angry, unhappy person.

Some people just don't do well with that kind of thing, but what did you think was gonna happen?
A long time ago I saw that I couldn't tolerate the feeling that one buyer or eBay could trash my business in a heart beat at whim.
For that reason I set up a number of safeguards over the years. I have never had to use them, but I couldn't tolerate the feeling that I could work hard to build my business up and then have it torn down by one buyer.
No one feels good when they feel trapped, and it sounds like you feel that way.
I'm not saying that your business is irreparably damaged because it's not.
I am saying that feeling that way for even a short period of time really sucks and there are safeguards so that it never has to happen again.
Yes, I saw it coming as soon as I received the first email. I did everything to head it off but she was too high up "I spent thousands", "You had to have known how important it is to me", "historical value destroyed", etc.etc.etc.
I take my business very seriously and I will admit, I failed to set up "safeguards". I was too busy trying to build a reputation on one identity. Yes, you are right, I am devestated. Thank You for understanding and for the good advice.

I'm surprised that nothing has been done to moderate that a little.
Two of the FBs say you altered the tags. Did you actually alter the tags on those particular pieces? I know that some were snipped, but if the buyer mixed the FB up a little and the FB does match the item that could be a case for removal.
Four hits like that??: ................. WAY beyond what any buyer should be capable of doing.
You'll recover and they'll roll off soon enough.
I guess it really sucks that on a new id you'll have limits just because it's a new id.................. Otherwise I'd start a new id and sell a few high priced items fast to get TRS quickly and let this one sleep for a while.

I always snip off the price on a tag for obvious reasons, so I don't see why this is a problem to your buyer. A seller obviously bought the item for a lower price than he/she is selling it for, and the buyer doesn't need to know how much the seller made on the sale. I don't think ebay ever removes feedback. I have tried twice to get unfair, untrue feedback removed, and they would not do it. I think they don't even look it up, they just say no to all, unless the seller keeps hasseling them about it. So in this case I would get after them to check your buyer out, especially since she is a seller as well.

I've sold many nwt items without the price portion of the tag. In some cases I've taken the price off and in other cases, that portion was already removed when I bought the item. When I do that, it is for a few different reasons, one of which renfrewite mentioned. However, if the price portion of the tag shows in the picture, it will still be attached when I send out the item so that the buyer does receive exactly what was in the picture.
With that being said, I think that 2 of gifts items that have negatives do not show any tags in the picture. Is that correct? I wonder if she would have more luck getting those 2 removed as there was no suggestion that the price portion would be included?? It's not an ideal solution but its something...
I'm not suggesting that the buyer is being reasonable and that she should have received any negs but if might not be possible to have all 4 removed.
