GST Number

Hi All,

I've been on eBay for almost 10 years and a registered business for about the same amount of time.

I know this question has been asked and answered before but for the life of me, I can't find the information.

I have a buyer in Quebec who is asking me if I am entitled to claim GST? They want to know if I am a complany who is GST registered? And, if so would I please provide an invoice with GST registration numbers.

Am I required to give them my GST registration number?

Anything that I should be concerned about with giving out that kind of information?

Yes you are required by law to provide your GST number on your invoice. I believe you have to put it there even if you are absorbing the GST costs.

It is best to always include the GST/HST registration on every invoice. You never know if the buyer will claim the GST/HST as ITC.
